My eyes scanned the two people before me and their expression said it all. It didn't help that I had caught up with some words they said about me behind closed doors. " What is it that I deserve to know, mother?" I àsked, this time, my gaze never leaving hers. My mother heaved a heavy sigh before motioning me to sit next to her.
