Chapter 07

‘Mom, you’re not going to like this’

‘you're going back aren’t you?’

‘Yeah but – no buts you said you were coming right back after you spoke with Kyros’

‘I know but I need to do this’

‘Why must it be you? Isn’t there someone else who can take care of all of this?’

‘There isn’t mom. I’m the only one that can deal with this’

‘No’ she started tearing up ‘I can’t lose you too’ she slumped against the wall

‘No you won’t I’ll be fine’

‘How do you know that? Powers and people trying to kill you it’s… this isn't what I imagined when you said you wanted to try something new'

‘Me neither’ I chuckled ‘I know these are all dangerous stuff and it definitely won’t be easy but dad entrusted me with this and I can’t go on living knowing dad and hundreds maybe thousands of people will suffer and probably die because I was too scared to do anything’

‘Does this mean I won’t see you again?’

‘Of course you will just think about it as me going on a trip for a while'

‘What will I do without you around? What about Tzuyu?’

Shit I didn’t think about that ‘I’ll talk to her and you’ll be fine’

‘What about work?’

‘I’ve already contacted them mom’

‘You’ve really made up your mind about this’ I nodded ‘I knew this day would come eventually, at least promise me you’ll visit once in a while’

‘I will, I love you mom’ I spread my arms and engulfed her in a hug

‘Just so you know this isn’t a goodbye is a see you later’

‘Of course mom'

Before I set out I made sure to call Tzuyu before she freaks out at my sudden disappearance and come knocking on my front door

'Heyy what's up' she said over the phone

'Hey how are ya?'

'I am great how are you?'

'Good, I'm good' we went silent for a few seconds

'Well? Is there something you want because it's kind of late'

'Yeah, I'm going away for a while Remember when I said I wanted to go on an adventure, something out of my comfort zone'

'Yes?'

'Well I that time has come'

'Wow look at you taking initiative, so when are you going so I can throw a good bye party' she said with excitement probably planning everything in her head

'Today'

'Like tonight? Well what time I can be over in about 5 minutes'

'I'm leaving right now, sorry I didn't call you sooner' she didn't say anything else 'Tzu? Are you still there?'

'You should have called me'

'I know'

'How long will you be gone?' I could sense a hint of sadness in her voice

'A few months maybe?'

'Months! Where the hell are you going that you'll be gone for months?'

'I know it's a long time but I'll be back before you know it'

'My prince the portal is ready' Xara told me over the phone

'Alright Tzu I gotta go now, again I'm sorry and I love you alright?'

'Now? Ok I'm still mad at you but you better send me pictures and skype me all the time'

'I will bye' the call ended

I took a deep breath in before turning around to face Cara

'I'm ready'

I took a step into the portal

The next day I woken up by Agatha who came into my room with a trumpet 

'Wake up your majesty' she played the trumpet, it was so unexpectedly loud that I covered my ears while rolling on the bed till I hit the ground

'Ow!'

'No time for that we have a lot on our plate. Maids I trust you know what to do' she then turned a left leaving me with 3 maids

'Come on your majesty' they dragged me towards the bathroom

'Open wide. Arms up!' one was brushing my teeth, the other was taking my measurements while the third was preparing a bath

When the maid was done measuring me she left then the other two started undressing me

'Woah! Woah!' they stopped 'I can do this by myself'

'But that wouldn't be right. Yes it's our job' they said one after the other

'I will take care of this go do something else'

'Understood' they curtsied and left

When I was through bathing I came back into my room to find them waiting for me with my clothes and shoes

'Thank you for bringing my clothes, you are dismissed I can -

Before I could finish it one of them tore the robe away from me. A small scream escaped my lips. They started dressing me despite my protests

They lead me out of the room when they were done to what looks like a training site. Other people were there engaged in one activity or the other, they lead me to Agatha and excused their selves

'Finally your here' she said

'Yeah, so this is where Hero will train me?' I said looking around

'Yes he'll be here any minute now. So just... you know warm up or something and I'll check on you later, bye' she turned and hurried away

'Seems I gotta face my doom' I said to myself

I began stretching out my limbs.

'Hey look it's the prince' one guy said to the other watching me

'The one everyone was talking about?' the first guy nodded 'I never knew the King had a don't

'No one did apparently, the king hid him from everyone'

'Why is there something wrong with him?'

'I feel - I feel you should shut the hell up and get the f**k out of my sight' a loud voice said behind them. The boys slowing turned back and met the eyes of Hero and scurried away

'f*****g gossips' he said staring daggers at their back 'Let me make this clear' he pulled up a chair and took a seat ' I don't like you, in my opinion you defeating Drakon sounds like a very bad joke'

'Then why are you helping me?'

'I'm only doing this because I Kyros it of me. Anyways that's enough idle chatter' he stood up and flinged the chair to the side 'let's see what you've got'

'What?'

'Come on' he encouraged 'give me your best hit'

'Um... okay'

I ran towards him and tried to land a hit on his face but it was easily dodged. I threw a few hits but each one missed. I was already starting to go out of breath

'Is that all your highness? If you plan to take on Drakon your going to need to try more harder than that' he said mockingly

I ran towards him again putting all of my strength into this last one but he caught it and swept my legs from under me making me slam my back on the floor.

I grunted in pain while other people watching laughed at me

'What the heck? He's so weak. How is he going to lead us. I bet I could take him. He probably doesn't even have any power' they all said around me

I never expected this to be easy, I didn't grow up in a world that required me to have to train or fight or anything. I'm trying my best here.

I looked down at my right hand to see the floor underneath it destroyed. I looked back up and everyone was quiet and staring at me

'Anger is a terrible thing' Hero said behind me 'Do not let it control you, control it. All everybody go back to what you were doing, if I catch anyone slacking they earn a sparing session with me' everybody went back to what they were doing

'Alex!' he yelled

'Yes sir' a boy was by him in an instant

'Emilio is your partner for today, you know what to do' he said before leaving

'Hey Emilio, I mean your highness's

'Emilio is fine'

'Okay, I'm Alexis but you can call me Alex' he extended a hand to me and I took it and he helped me up

'We have to work on our build now so does lifting weights sound good?' I nodded 'Alright come on I'll spot you'

I heard laughter and murmuring while Alex spotted me

'I can't do it'

'Of course you can'

'I can't it's too heavy'

'It's just 50 kilograms'

'Yes a very heavy 50 kilograms' I said holding up the weights, I haven't been able to lower it without Alex's help

'Just take a deep breath in and lower it slowly'

I did what he said and gently lowered the weight to my chest

'See you did it's

'I did but I can't bring it back up'

'I can't believe this is the guy that's going to be our King' the other two from earlier spoke as they passed us

'Yeah but he might not last long because if he can't lift 50 then there's no way he can measure up to an army of Nyx' they laughed

I lost concentration that I dropped my hands and the weight almost fell on my chest if Alex didn't catch it in time

'Pay no attention to them, their job is to make everyone else miserable' he said grimacing

'I wouldn't if what they say wasn't true'

'Still but the way they say it, they want to rile you up don't let them. Maybe you aren't ready for the big ones yet' he went to grab the smaller weights 'here these are 20, when you get used to these we can get back to the bigger ones'

'Thank you, I know you were told to be my partner but it's nice to be around a friendly face'

'Pay no mind to that I'm happy to help, the King was always nice to me and my family so I'll be delighted to help his son in any way I can. If you need anything, anything at all, you can count on me'

I went back to my training a bit more happier than I was when I came in
