Chapter NineM onday was quiet in terms of the murder case but busy for me. I had some accounting work to do to clear the decks for the upcoming quarter-end records I’d have to complete. I also had the photographs I had taken of a newborn and her parents to review plus portfolios for two other photo clients. Brooke’s death, however, entered my thoughts many times during the day, and I wondered if Eileen and her team were close to a break in the case. The local news outlets had no updates. Brooke’s wake was on Tuesday. I rode with Meredith to the funeral home; we arrived fifteen minutes after the two-p.m. start of the viewing hours.
