Chapter SixY ogi and I received an enthusiastic welcome from Ranger, Mom and Dad’s black Labrador retriever/pointer mix when we arrived at their house for dinner. Ranger rubbed his wet nose against my leg, gave my hand a “kiss,” like a proper gentleman, and woofed a “Good to see you again.” He and Yogi then did their ritual sniff-my-butt, “Where have you been?” routine before setting off to explore the backyard together. Lewis and Clark. Yogi and Ranger. No difference. Meredith and our parents, Geri and Ed, were sitting on the deck.
