lingered on the sidewalk in front of Yoon’s Antiques for a minute and checked out the shop’s window display before I went inside. Was whatever Jessica had seen in the display a week earlier still there?
“There’s only one way to find out.” I entered the lemon-scented shop and approached the rolltop desk at the back of the shop where owner Burt Yoon sat.
“See anything of interest in the window?”
“Plenty.” I took the seat beside the desk. “I don’t allow myself to fall in love with things I can’t afford.”
“Wise woman, but not my ideal customer. It’s a good thing not everyone has your discipline.” Burt chuckled and moved his half-frame glasses from his nose to the thick shock of white hair on his head. “What can I do for you if you’re not here to buy?”
