Anna The first thing I felt was the cold. Not the kind that bites sharply, but the soft, lingering chill of evening air brushing against my skin. It settled over my cheeks, slipped beneath the loose strands of my hair, and stirred me gently from sleep. My body reacted before my mind did, instinctively curling inward, seeking warmth. But my eyelids felt too heavy to open. My thoughts were slow, drifting somewhere between dreams and reality, when suddenly something shifted. The ground beneath me disappeared.
