Claire POV
The clock already hits at 6 in the evening, it means time for my medicine. Since I came back here in Australia I became dependent on alcohol. The alcohol makes me numb when the alcohol already runs in my whole body I don't feel the pain anymore. Yes, alcohol brings the memories back but it can take away the pain that I feel.
I went to The First Bar where I usually drink. I went straight to the bar counter and order my drinks. I take my first glass, second glass, and so on. The music in the bar and the alcohol that I already consumed make my mind travel in that day. The day that makes my life turn into gray.

At exactly seven-thirty in the evening I and my mom arrive the M Hotel. The driven open the car door before I stepped outside I looked at my mom and see her staring blankly at nowhere.
"mom, are you okay?" I ask her and get her attention. She looked at me for a while and I can tell that she has a problem just by looking at her eyes. Seconds after she noded as answers to my questions and she smiled. Maybe she has a smile on her face but her eyes tell the other way around.
"Are you sure mom?" I asked her once again
"I'm truly fine, let's go. Lead the way darling" we make our way inside the hotel. As we enter, the employees greeted us and guide us to our reserved room. When we reach the room our guide knocks on the door to indicate to the people inside that someone is entering. As the door opens, King welcomes us with his brightest smile and welcomes me with a tight hug.
"Good evening Mrs. Montemayor. I'm so grateful to meet you again." King's greetings to my mom while guiding us to our seats.
" cut the formality Hijo just call me, untie Isabelle" before seating I make my way to great King's parents.
" good evening Uncle Duke and Aunt Carol. How are you?"
"Please be seated darling. We are both good."
"It was great to hear that" as I seated, I can feel that there is tension between my mom and King's parents. I'm trying to find out what's behind their stares when my mom speaks.
"So my I ask why did you guys call for a family dinner? Don't get me wrong having a family dinner is a great bonding but I can sense that you didn't call us just for that."
"Let's talk about that while we eat," King answer and make a gesture to the employee for the food.
"Why don't you guys straight it to the point? Do you call us for your wedding announcement right ?" Mom said as the food was served. I looked at King and mouthed sorry and he just nodded and smile.
"So mom, dad, and Untie Isabelle we call you for you to announce that I and Claire are already engaged. I'm sorry Aunt Isabelle for not telling you first that I will be proposing to your daughter" After King's confirmation I looked at their faces. I can tell that King's parents are happy but there is something in their eyes. I can't if that is hesitation.
"Congratulations, so when will you held an engagement party to announced it to everyone?" Aunt Carol killing the silence at the table. I'm ready to answer when my mother cuts in.
"There will be no wedding to happen" these words shock us. King pressed my hands telling me he will handle the situation.
"I'm sorry Aunt Isabelle if I didn't ask for your daughter's hand. I do respect you but you can't stop our plan. We just let you guys know but we are don't need your opinions i"
"What a disrespectful man, I won't give you my blessing and my decision is final."
"Mom, please stop. Let's talk about this" my mom stand up and turn her back.
"Let the kids be happy Isabelle" Uncle Duke speak that makes my mom stops
"Don't let the past affects them"
"What past?" King intervene.
"It's nothing to do with the both of you. Get out King and Claire let the three of us talk." King grab my hand and walk.
"Stop there both of you. You already brought back the past then let us all talk about that. The reason why I'm against your wedding is that I and Duke are ex-lovers."
"Is that the reason why you opposed our wedding mom? Like what you said it's in the past and it is nothing to do with us. Don't tell me you still have a fee......
"Stop right there woman. Do you want to marry your sibling?" like what? do I hear it correctly?
"Sibling? Who? King? You are talking nonsense mom. If you don't want us to marry then we will get married not until you accepted it. Let's go home now" I grab my mom's hand but she pushed me.
"Duke is your father, 2 months after we broke up I discover that I have you in my womb. I didn't let your father know because he is already married to Carol. I don't want to go against their marriage, I just accept that it will just you and me." hearing those makes my body numb, I can't breathe and my tears keep on falling, and later on darkness eat me up.
Starting that day my life became a mess. I don't know why does it happen to me, why does mom make me and King's family believe that I'm one of Montenegro's then turns out as a lie.
I drink straight what's in my glass leave my pay on the counter and call it a day.
