Dinner was ready when Briella and Kyle came back downstairs. We sat outside to eat, letting the sunset be our candlelight. It wasn’t long before Kyle was fading again, and Briella took him up to bed. He said goodnight, but he was so tired he didn’t ask for a story. I missed it. I cleaned her kitchen up and was drying my hands when she came down the stairs again. I wasn’t sure how she was going to take me being there. If she was ready for me to leave after a long day, or if she wanted me to stay. Sadly, it was all up to her. “Do you want to watch a movie or something?” she asked. I nodded and followed her to the couch.
