Alessandro did not take his eyes off the beautiful fairy child holding his daughter’s hand. Abril placed her hand on her husband's shoulder to calm him and said, "Calm down, Lessan, he must be a friend of Lissana."
"That's right," Maya responded. "That child is named Tarik, he’s Fay's son. Do you remember Fay? He went with me to the human world as an emissary of the fairy queen."
"And why does he have to hold my daughter's hand?" Alessandro asked, trying not to get upset.
"They've been friends since they were babies, don't think too much of it."
"Why am I just finding out about this now?"
"Because you never asked," Maya replied calmly. Alessandro shot a questioning look at her, asking silently, "Why didn't you tell me?" Cassian averted his gaze as if to say, "Don't ask me anything."
