Two f*****g days!
“Ok, so what is the full story, what are we telling everyone?” Lisa asked the doctor.
“You have gotten better at the stitches, are you sure you want to be a psychiatrist, you could be a doctor.” They laughed.
“I love helping people and helping with mental illness is what I want to do for a living.”
“Ok, sweetie! I had to tell your mum that I stitched your wound and cleaned the rest of your injuries before I could move you, because you were still unconscious. You left the house after having an argument with your father, while walking you got dizzy and fell down the stairs that’s where I found you and took you to the hospital. I called your father, and he told me to bring you home, but I protested because I waited for you to regain consciousness. When I saw that your condition was stable, I brought you home. I still need to observe your condition, so I must visit at less once a day.”
“Damn, that’s a story.” Lisa said, “so what are my injuries?”
“Two cracked ribs, the cut on your arm is pretty bad, a few bruises on your legs and side, a broken nose and knee swelling.”
“That’s a lot!” she was shocked
“Lisa, I ask this as your doctor, are you sure you are going to be alright living in this house?”
“I don’t know, but I can’t leave, for my family… I must stay in this house.”
“Ok, but if ever you want to get away from all of this, my wife and I will allow you to live with us for as long as you need.”
“There is no need for that at all doc, she is a strong girl… she’ll be just fine.” Lisa and the doctor turn to see Brady at the door, with Levi.
“Yes, doc… I’ll be fine.” She smiled trying to hide the fear in her heart.
“See doc, she is fine.” Brady smiled, while the doctor sighed in disappointment.
“Brady, can I talk to you outside?” Brady nodded, then walked out of the room with the doctor.”
Brady’s POV
“What is it doc?” I asked him, I’m sure this is about Lisa. I don’t regret injuries her to that extent, she deserves it for killing Sasha.
“Her ribs were a centimeter away from going through her heart, you need to stop this, if you continue to do this you will lose another daughter.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, pretending to care.
“Lisa’s body is getting weaker, if you continue to beat her, she won’t be able to heal internal injuries.”
“What are you talking about, doctor you that she is the reason Sasha died, she was so selfish and allowed her sister to die.” I spoke, trying to reason with the doctor.
“I can’t tell you the reason, but Lisa had no other choice, even if she donated Sasha would have still died.” The doctor informed me.
“Doctor, what are you not telling me?” I asked
“I would be breaking the law if I told you, has Lisa asked me not to inform anyone. Brady, as your friend, I ask you to stop, this before she dies.”
“She will get the rest that she needs.” I told the doctor; he had no choice but to just nod watching me walk down the stairs away from my useless daughter’s room, as he once again sighed in disappointment.
THIRD PERSON’S POV
As her father felt the room Levi came to sit on the edge of her bed.
“Why did you leave the house alone at night?” Levi asked, “You could have called someone to accompany you.”
“I am sorry, I was not thinking straight. Leaving the house was the only thing I could think of at the time.” Lisa lied.
“Besides almost breaking yourself, what if someone had attack you.” She flinched listening to Levi’s words, trying to hide the truth.
“I know it was foolish of me to leave like that, but I didn’t know what else to do.”
“Forget about all that, what did the doctor say about your injuries?” Levi asked, worried
“Just a few injuries, nothing I can’t handle.” She laughed
“This is not funny Lisa, the doctor said that you have cracked ribs.” Levi said irritated
“He’s right, Lisa don’t make fun of your injuries. That cracked rib I was talking about, was actually broken and missed your heart by a centimeter.” The doctor said walking back into the room. After he finished speaking, Lisa’s face paled, realizing that her father was a centimeter away from killing her. He could have killed her.
“I was that close to dying! He almost killed me this time.” Lisa (thought she) whispered but Levi and the doctor heard her.
“Enough, I have left your medication in the first cupboard, please make sure you take them, your body is very weak.” The doctor changed the subject.
“Thank you, doc, but will I be able to go to college tomorrow, I need to go?” Lisa asked
“Yes, you can go to school tomorrow, but be careful… you can’t allow your ribs to move out of place. Lisa moving around going to be painful for a while, so I will give you these.” The doctor opens his bag and takes out a book of medication, “I must warn you; these are very strong and are meant for cancer.” Lisa’s eyes widen realizing that Levi was still in the room.
“Doctor, why would you come to her house with cancer medication and why would you give them to her.” Levi was angered by the fact that the doctor with give her such strong medication.
“Its just for pain, and I brought it because I knew that Lisa would want to go back to school so I carried it.” The doctor left the room after giving Lisa the pill, he waves at her with a small smile and exits the room.
