The women startled badly at the sound of his voice, looking terrified like they had been caught committing a felony.
“Astrid and the ladies were just leaving.” Shaira was the one to break the silence that followed his question, a firm smile on her face.
Astrid was the first to break out of their frozen state of shock. “Y-Yes, of course…” She trailed off, making herself scarce without even bothering to say anything more.
Zavier immediately went to her to make sure that she was okay.
“I’m just fine.” Shaira smiled up at him, letting him pull her closer to him.
She had been expecting them to show up and of course they didn’t disappoint, she just wished that Zavier hadn’t been a witness to it.
She doubted that they would approach her again after that and she had no use for these parties
