The Huntsman stands before the mosaic wall. He raises his arms and proclaims in a loud voice: “Curiouser and curiouser.” The mosaic splits down the center in a jagged pattern. The two sides now open up. Since I’m still in my wolf form, it’s natural to stalk closer to the opening. It’s nothing more than a deep pit. Inhaling deeply, I catch the scent of old paper and a long-gone rabbit. There’s also the smell of fresh grass and dead leaves. That’s the Huntsman. I swing my head around. “What’s down here?” I ask. “Wonderland, of course,” says the Huntsman. I’m glad that Grayson is still in her hybrid wolf form. She’ll be in better shape in case of trouble. “You two are such a jittery pair,” says the Huntsman. “I’ll go first.” He races past us and leaps into the pit. I turn to Grayson. “S
