Fifteen I LET THE HOT WATER wash over me as I try to make sense of everything. After the words we exchanged in the cabin, we walked together in silence back to the house. We nodded good night to each other before going to bed. I did have two things to be thankful for. First, the day left me so emotionally and physically exhausted that I slipped into unconsciousness soon after my head hit the pillow. Second, my sleep was dreamless. Now awake, I’m forced to confront the question we only touched on last night at the cabin. What do we do now? The words we spoke to each other last night can’t be taken back.
