The enforcers caught us.
They did.
After everything... the adrenaline, the loss, the very refreshing hope, we lost.
I silently mourn the death of my friends while numbly staring at this guard... Al and Van.
They were shot while running.
Mind you, Vander tried to do that thing we watch in movies where that one foolish friend decides to be the decoy to save his friends, what's the word... yeah, PLAYING HERO.
Fucker got shot in the head while hesitating.
The irony.
We still got caught before we could even cross over.
...
"Monkeys," this one guard said as he stretched out his mucky hands to grab Valor's hair.
Cock sucker.
"Yicks," Mary winces after witnessing the shii I'm forced to overlook.
That one... if we ever escape, I'll make sure to help the universe clear that waste.
"Y'all think ya still smart?
Huh?
Peasants..." He continued and I could see an unhealthy amount of spit constantly coming out from his mouth and ending up on Valor's face.
Damn...
My Nigga closed his eyes and pursed his lips tryna minimize the damage.
That's one place I don't want to be in.
I would have defended him but while clad in these chains, I doubt I could help at all... hell, it would only divert his attention to me and well... call me selfish but I don't want to get spit on my face.
Another guard walked up to the cocksucker and whispered a few words in his ear.
I looked down and examined my gloved hands, they were gracious enough to let it be, Damn!
I needed a shower... I was covered in filth and I could literally smell my stink.
The guard who just walked in, opened the cell wall, added a new chain that connected my hands together then removed the other chain which connected me to the wall.
I was forever grateful my friends weren't chained like me... I guess they believed I was the main threat.
But now I think of it, they are overreacting!
How the f**k was I gonna unlock my chains and open the cell wall and get out... alive?
Tis a suicide mission fit for a mad person...
Not to brag... but I could easily escape... Val and Mary... a lot of things could go wrong if I tried to escape, I'm tired... Tired of losing my friends.
They could use 'em to bargain with me if one of 'em or BOTH of 'em was caught.
Speaking of Mary and Val, they were currently looking at me in alarm and when I gave 'em what I thought was a reassuring smirk, their frowns deepened.
"Y'all getting sensitive over s**t, I'm all right!" I gave 'em a goofy grin as the guard roughly pulled me to my feet and shoved me out of the cell.
I snarled at the cocksucker when I passed him and he glared at me even as he made his way toward Valor.
I turned to the guard currently pulling me by my chain.
He looked decent... better than the cocksucker at least.
"If he kills any of my friends, I'll kill you..."
He glared at me then shoved me harder.
He thinks I'm bluffing?
"Where are we going?" I sweetly asked and when he didn't reply, I almost lost it.
"Courtesy demands you respond," I dryly said.
"My courtesy doesn't apply to criminals." He snorted.
"Tut, tut, tut... I'm giving you another chance." I could easily use this chain to overpower him within five seconds, I needed information so I wasn't going to kill him now at least... I could manipulate him...
I was gonna get more information nevertheless.
Like he felt my killing intent, he sighed.
"The bishop and other counsel members want to see you," he reluctantly said.
Why...
"That wasn't so hard, was it?"
He snorted.
"Whatta the Prime Minister?
He doesn't deem me fit or important enough to see me?"
"He is dead," he said then clenched his jaw.
I took that as my cue to stop probing.
The Prime Minister is dead... the Bishop is probably behind it, I think everyone already knows this though.
Holy my ass.
I snorted.
Rumours spread down town of the formidable things he does.
One of the numerous reasons I shouldn't escape, I really wanted to see how he looks... the image I conjured in my head was of a bald pot-bellied man with no white teeth.
"So... how old are you?" I cheerfully asked.
He naturally didn't answer.
"What's your name, how should I address you?" I stared at the back of his head, waiting for an answer.
He apparently decided silence was an acceptable response.
Interesting.
"You see, I plan to lay name when I report to the bishop how awful you've treated me," I playfully pushed.
"William," he gruffily replied while pulling me faster.
"You know that's no way to treat a lady."
He snorted.
"My fault... I expected too much from someone who snorts like a pig always, tis no surprise you act like a monkey," I provocatively said.
Seeing he didn't respond, I sighed dramatically.
"Fine, I'll entertain myself."
We walked through a narrow corridor that smelled like damp stone, old metal and blood. Every few steps, another guard watched me.
Some stared.
Some whispered.
One actually crossed himself with a freaking rosary. In the past, that woulda been considered racist but I had nothing to say considering the fact this particular fool was a black.
The farther we walked down the corridor, the quieter the prison became. The rowdy voices from the cells gradually faded behind, replaced by the monotonous scrape of boots against stone and the occasional metallic clink of chains.
The walls were quite old, older and more imposing than most I've seen.
Massive blocks of dark stones formed the walls, their surfaces uneven and scarred with age. Narrow iron sconces were fixed between them, each holding a weak flame that cast more shadow than light. Whoever designed this place had considered comfort an architectural defect, I dryly noticed.
I noticed several doors along along the corridor. Some were wooden while others were reinforced with Iron.
A few had small barred openings at eye level.
I wondered what kinda criminals occupied those cells.
Heh!
I'm about to go crazy thinking about how chaotic the scene will look if I were to release all of 'em.
Damn!
Another thing I needed to urgently tick off on my to-do list.
William turned sharply and I nearly walked into him.
Stupid piece of shii.
"Careful," I smirked.
He gave me a look.
"What?"
He continued walking and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. What was the meaning of all that?
"Communication ain't really your strongest suit, huh?"
We eventually stopped in front of a pair of enormous wooden doors where two guards stood on either side of them.
Both armed with swords.
Both expressionless.
Both looking at me like some unpleasant problem someone had dumped on their desk.
So word of my cool, extravagant and benevolent activities had reached them, aye?
I gave 'em a cute Cheshire grin which made 'em look everywhere else but me with an obvious frown on their faces.
One of the guards tapped the door twice and I soon heard the muffled voice of the steward... announcing my presence.
"The deviant," he said and I couldn't help the grin which appeared on my face.
With William standing beside me, I used that opportunity to kick the doors open.
Oh well... who doesn't love an entrance?
