Loveth’s POV I was a wreck when I woke, my body aching and my mind unable to escape the haunting replay of the torture I had endured. The clock had struck past midnight, but the darkness outside was nothing compared to the despair I felt inside. These people were insane. Every single one of them. They’d tried to kill me, lied against me, and punished me for crimes I didn’t commit. I couldn’t take it anymore. My resolve hardened. I had to escape this nightmare. My body knew how important it was not to fall asleep. The muffled hum of voices carried through the walls, keeping me frozen in place.
