Rosalia's pov
The dining hall was filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses as we celebrated another successful hunt.As Luna, I sat beside my mate, Alpha Killian. I rarely drank, but tonight, I was relaxed — too relaxed. My glass was never empty. Killian’s hand was there to refill it before I could refuse. “Another toast,” Killian announced, raising his glass. “To my beautiful Queen.“To the Queen!” The room cheered, raising their glasses in midair.I giggled and leaned into his touch, my golden crown gleaming under the chandelier.I was glowing and I was happy. No feeling could beat this. Not long after, Killian wrapped his arms around my waist and whispered into my ear.I smiled and whispered back in his ears. He guided me away from the table and led up the grand staircase“Calling it in, Your Majesty?” One of the pack's omega called out.“Not yet. I'm having another party upstairs.” I called back and the room erupted with rounds of laughter. I giggled, leaning into Killian's touch. The wine was making me dizzy, light and you could say, free. Tonight was the only time I could be myself and I was enjoying it. Killian's fingers brushed my cheek, spreading warmth through me.He led me to our bedroom, closing the doors behind us. My heart fluttered in my chest as Killian tilted his head towards me. “Kiss me.” he whispered.I hooked my arms around his neck and leaned in to kiss him. I never saw the knife.A sharp, searing pain tore through my stomach and my face paled. My eyes fell on a knife in Killian's hand. What was he doing with a knife?I barely registered what happened when suddenly, my body jerked. Confusion clouded my mind and my lips parted, but no words came out. Killian's hand was still on the hilt of the dagger, his eyes void of emotion as he pulled it out. The pain doubled. My knees buckled and I hit the ground.I looked down at my stomach. There was blood on my dress. My blood.“K - Killian…” Blood spluttered from my lips as I choked on a sob.Killian crouched before me, his gaze cold and icy as he reached for my crown.“Killian…” My eyes widened and I watched in horror as he lifted my crown from my tangled hair and placed it on top of his own head. “Long live the Alpha.” He said with a smirk. Air was knocked out of my lungs. I couldn't think. This wasn't real. It couldn't be real. I tried to move but pain lanced through my body. I was still bleeding but why? My wounds would've been healed by now. Then it hit me.“The wine!” I said in an exasperated gasp.Killian smiled. “You catch on quick, darling Rosalia. I know if I had attacked you directly, I would lose so why not try something else… something far more creative. I suggested a hunt and you agreed without blinking twice!” “I loved you!” I screamed.“And you were foolish too!” He shot back.Immediately, the doors opened. The guards were here.Relief washed all over me. “Thank heavens, you all are here. Arrest him. Arrest this traitor.”Killian scoffed. “Oh please. You thought any of them were loyal to you? You know nothing, sweet Rosalia. Take her away.”“What?” I didn't even have enough time to think before rough hands grabbed me. “No! Let me go!” I screamed as they life's me and dragged me out of the room.I tried to write but my strength was gone. The chilly night air hit me like a wave and I panicked. No, no! Why were they taking me out of the pack! I was their Luna!I expected murmured confusion to echo among the pack as they stared but nothing came. Instead they stare at me as though they had been waiting for this day to come. No one came for me. None of them even fought to die for their Luna. A familiar hand lifted my chin. My vision swam but I could still make out his face — Killian, standing in the doorway with my crown on his head.“Throw her out.” He ordered and walked away. My body bounced off the muddy ground as I rolled into the shallow, filthy water of the gutter. I heard something snap and pain lanced through my body – sharp and unforgiving. But…It was nothing like the hollowed feeling borrowing in my chest. Everything…Everything had been taken from me. The world had taken everything from me. Mocking laughters and pointed glares followed me. No one spared me a second glance. No one even offered to help me up. Not my former packmates, not even the warriors. They were the ones that dragged me out and certainly not Killian, the man I once loved.“Look at her. She's so pathetic!” A woman drawled with disgust.“Slam the door in her face!”“No, no, no. Wait.” My fingers dug into the cold mud as I dragged myself to my feet. The heavy packhouse doors slammed in my face.“Open the door!” I pushed myself up, pounding my fists against the door.“Killian!” I screamed this time but no one… not a single soul came to my aid.The cold rain had stopped but the sky was still dark, as if it was mourning with me. Why?Why are they doing this to me?A choked sob escaped me. “Open up!”Not a soul came out.My weak fingers curled into a fist. They took everything – my title, my home, my family, and worst of all, my mate. My chest ached as I forced myself forward, each step was heavier than the last, but I had nowhere to go. No one to turn to. A rogue. That's all I was now. That's what they made me – a line wolf with nothing to live for.I wandered the outskirts of the pack, my vision blurred with unshed tears, my breath in ragged gasps. Pain clawed at my heart, suffocating me with each passing second. What was the point of living like this?I stumbled to a stop at the edge of a steep ravine. A rushing over aged below, the dark, murky water swallowing everything in its path. One step. That's all it would take. Just one step and it would all be over – the pain, the betrayal, the humiliation. No one would miss me. No one would even remember I existed.I closed my eyes, meeting the wind whip through my hair. My body swayed forward. Then —‘Rosalia.’ The voice was soft but firm, echoing in my head. My breath caught in my throat. It was my wolf, my only companion whenever I was grieving or in despair. The only partner I'd ever ask for.‘Don't let them win,’ she whispered. ‘Don’t give them this victory. You are not weak. You’re far from nothing.’A sob escaped my lips. “I have nothing left!” ‘You have me,’ she said. ‘And we still have a fight left in us.’I clenched my fists, my nails biting into my palms. She was right. I wasn't dead yet. And if the Moon Goddess had left me breathing over what I had been through today then there had to be a reason.I stepped back from the edge, willing myself to not surrender to pain and suffering.I didn't know what came next. I didn't know how to survive as a rogue. But I did know one thing —”I would not let them win. No one breaks Luna Rosalia.
