Thank you so much for reading In the Skies. The Berlin Fractured series has taken me deep into the Cold War and it has been eye-opening to research how everything unfolded.
While On the Brink concentrated on the situation in Berlin and the construction of Tegel Airport, I wanted to explore the other end of the airlift in Wiesbaden/Frankfurt in this book. And who would be a better protagonist for this than a pilot who’s actually flying that Berlin thing?
Glenn was mentioned as a side character in the previous book, and he was the natural choice. I took some liberties with his character for the sake of simplicity: he’s a combination of several courageous men who experienced the anecdotes mentioned in this book.
