Abel’s POV
I didn’t expect the woman from the gym to stay on my mind.
Then again, i hadn’t expected her to take my phone either.
I watched her walk away, water bottle swinging from her hand, completely unbothered by the fact that she had just argued with a man she barely knows.
Nobody had ever spoken to me like that, talk less confronting and demanding an apology.
Most people knew who i was.
She clearly didn’t know.
That should be a good thing.
Instead, it irritates me.
My phone buzzes in my pocket.
I pull it out and glance at the screen.
More than one missed call from my father.
There’s no doubt the reason he’s persistent in his calling.
The ultimatum.
Thirty days to bring home a fiancée or i watch everything i’ve built over the years slip out of my hands.
I choose the former, i can’t afford to loose my years of hard work.
I had already dismissed half a dozen suggestions.
Women my father considered suitable.
Women who knew exactly what my family name worth.
None of them felt genuine.
I looked across the gym, she’s talking to one of the trainers now.
Lavender.
The name suited her.
I almost scoff at the thought.
Since when do i know what name suited who.
She was stubborn, impulsive, and too comfortable challenging strangers.
She didn’t look impressed by me.
She didn’t ask who i was, neither did she try to know me.
She didn’t try to flirt either.
She had demanded an apology because i bumped into her.
And when i refused, she snatched my phone.
How ridiculous.
But Maybe…
I study her for a minute.
Maybe that is exactly what i need.
Someone who didn’t care about my money and status.
Most importantly, someone who wouldn’t bend or scrumble under my father’s scrutiny.
I immediately dismissed the thought.
I didn’t even know her.
I knew nothing about her except her name and the fact that she has an alarming amount of confidence.
Just then, my fathers call comes through.
I answer.
“I’m listening”
“Have you found someone?”
My eyes drift back to Lavender.
She seems amused by whatever the trainer is saying to her because she’s laughing.
“No” i reply
He pauses.
Then my father sighs.
“You have twenty nine days Abel.” he says
I tighten my grip on my phone.
My gaze remains on Lavender.
Maybe twenty nine days is all i need.
I end the call and walk out of the gym.
I find my car across the street and my men too.
I cross to the other side and i get in.
On my way home, I contact my Personal assistant.
I give him Lavender's name and I tell him to find out everything there is to find out about her.
He asks for a picture and I quickly send one to him.
Earlier on, i went to the security room to check the footage of our encounter.
I knew i’d need a picture or some sort to find her again.
My P.A says to give him a week.
A whole week is too much so I tell him three days or he loses his job.
I drop my phone afterwards and stare ahead in the car.
“I can’t wait to find out about you Lavender.” I say to myself
