Wick

Natasha returned home after a long day of doing tours of the city. She had several of the underground today. It was her absolute favorite. Nat got to discuss what it would have been to live in that time period. Touring the underground in Edinburg was so much fun! Talking about the body snatchers. It was just so much fun, even if she was on her feet all day. Nat never did the night time tours. Those were the ones where the supernatural was most likely to come out. Nat had enough run in’s with the supernatural world, she didn’t need any more. The best thing about her job though was interacting with people. It was really the only time she did so in her day to day life. Times like these is when she missed her friends and mom the most. Nat didn’t really make any friends in college. She didn’t know what it was about her, people just shied away from her. Nat also didn’t go out of her way to make friends either. The only friend she had was her ex-boyfriend. He was a vampire and they split when he graduated and had to go back to his family castle somewhere in Europe. He invited her to go with him, but Nat knew that would have risked her to being found. Nat turned him down, he claimed to be heart broken but she doubted it. After a long day of giving tours some of her co-workers would go out for drinks. Natasha however was never invited. Nat had to admit that did sting a little, but she always got her pay back when one of them would ask for her to cover their shift. Nat would always politely decline saying she was busy. If she was ever pressed Nat told them that maybe they shouldn’t go out drinking so much and they wouldn’t need their shift covered. The person usually got the hint and walked away. Nat was done being a push over. Where had it gotten her? In a two-bedroom flat alone in Edinburg. She did have a cat, but that was it. Nat did see the irony in a witch owning a cat, but the owners wouldn’t let her have a dog. Nat ordered some Chinese in then watched some Netflix and that was usually how she spent her night. That or she would read a book. Nat curled up with her beautiful calico cat Bella and watched the new American Horror Stories. * “Hey Nat this next tour is ready for you,” her boss Emilia said. So Nat didn’t change her name. she just couldn’t after everything that happened, not her first name. Her last name was Johnson. Nat nodded and booked it over to the designated meeting spot. It was the Mercat Cross, basically the epicenter of the Royal mile of old town Edinburgh. Nat finally made it and saw several people waiting around the structure. She also saw Connor, he was an employee for the tour guide. “Hey Nat,” Connor said as she approached. “Hey, who do I have?” She asked. “Those four teens and that older couple,” Connor responded. Nat nodded and started to get ready. “Hello everyone!” Nat said in her best professional and cheery tour voice. “My name is Natasha but you can call me Nat I am going to be your tour guide through old Edinburgh today,” Nat started of the tour by getting everyone situated with their head sets. “All right now that everyone can hear me through the noise let’s get started. We start all of our tours here at this cross for a reason. This cross was where it all happened..” Nat started the whole beginning speal about life in Scotland. Nat didn’t stay here as much as other tour guides did because people got antsy. “All right, let’s get walking,” Nat said as people started to follow her. Nat was heading toward one of the cathedral’s when she felt something. She tried to continue on with the talk, but there was something in the air that called out to her. Something she hadn’t felt in five years. Nat was powerless to resist the call of this magic. She had no idea why. Nat hadn’t used magic for five long years, other than to glamour herself. “Please look among yourself, I need to speak to the manager.” Nat said to her crowd. That was a lie, but they would never know. Nat followed the pull like a magnet. Her feet moved and she quickly found herself out the hallway, and down the side door. Nat found herself in a side alley where three people were fighting. Immediately she knew two of those people were vampires. Vampires were dangerous to witches, they didn’t mess with people like Nat’s parents. However, there were stories of vampires k********g young witches like Nat feeding off of them and making them do spells. Nat stayed out of sight as long as possible while the third person was blasting him with spells. Nat was trying to remember the spell her father taught her for vampires. Suddenly a vampire got the upper hand, and the wizard went flying. The vampires started circling his prone form, Nat had to do something or he would be dead. Nat lifted her arms and let out a strong blast of her magic. The vampires fell against the concrete, stunned. Nat didn’t let up, she tried blasting them again. One supersped away, but managed to land the other one unconscious. The vampire came up behind her, and grabbed her neck pulling her against his cold body. Nat wanted to puke. “You know I was going to take your friend there, but I think I’d rather take you.” The vampire inhaled deeply. “You smell delicious, and I can feel the power radiating from you.” “Not a chance leech,” a voice called distracting the vampire. Nat gave him a blast of magic and moved out of the way for the wizard to shoot him with fire. Impressive, Nat only knew her father could shoot fire. The wizard turned around and killed the vampire on the ground. When he was done with the vampires he turned back to her. “Thank-“ he broke of when their eyes met. Nat could feel his magic reach out to this wizard, and his respond in kind. It was definitely an amazing moment that everyone had described it to be. “Wick.” They both whispered in awe of each other. He was a very handsome man. Black hair, black beard, at least six foot tall. Then the man’s face started to look confused, the longer he looked at her. “What?” Nat asked self-conscious. She had gained weight this past few years being inactive. “Nat? Nat Volkov?” Dread filled her veins. She didn’t confirm or deny. “What’s your name?” The man looked surprised. “You don’t recognize me? It’s me Alexei. I can’t believe your here, you dad has been looking for you. I have to call him right away,” Alexei started saying. Natasha was completely petrified. Once the man confirmed his identity Nat’s eyes went wide with terror. Then he talked about her father, Nat slowly started backing away while unknowingly scratching her arm. Alexei saw that and realized something was wrong. “Hey the past is in the past right?” He asked like a prick. “Sure,” Nat smiled and Alexei smile back. “When you rot in hell.” Then she teleported back to her apartment. She had to leave. Nat quickly found a suitcase and frantically started putting her clothes and necessities in a bag. She found the cat carrier, and quickly found her cat. Nat ushered in the carrier. She packed her other bag. Nat gathered all of her things in one pile then teleported to the only place she had ever felt safe. Authors note: sorry if the first chapter seems a bit choppy I had a little trouble with it.
