The gold of the trophy gleamed under the overhead lamps as Adrian handed it into Aria's grasp, a victoriously smug smirk playing about his lips.
"Here, since you had been so sure about my failure, you could keep my wins," he glibly stammered and spoke with challenges in every form.
Aria snorted loudly, her eyes rolling, "Where the winning point is less than a second away from your opponent. Not impressive in the least.”
To me, I couldn't help but chuckle at the sound of the comic exchange with each word laced with familiarity and ease.
Adrian shot again, smugly: "Well, I surely don't need skill when I have this", he said, tapping on an amulet dangling off his neck. "You're right, your so-called lucky charm did indeed work".
