Five hundred years had passed and the Xeranians and Oceanians existed apart. The children in Oceania only heard about the Xeranians from folklore and bedtime stories. Stories about the people of sand. The stories were exaggerated depictions of what the Xeranians actually were. These were the kind of tales that sent chills down the spine of unruly kids. The Oceanian boogeyman. The people of sand that rode on horses so thirsty they had become living bones. They had no clothes but were dressed in rags. Their skin was as dark was mud and had worms living in it. They were dangerous and ate children who stayed up past their bed times.This was all the Xeranians were to the Oceanians now; characters in forgotten stories.
