“Dammit!” She threw the spell book across the room.
“Lilith, how many times have I told you to stop vandalizing my things. Just because you’re in a mood does not mean you take it out on my stuff.” Her sister Lyla lifted her head from the book she was reading.
“I know, but I’m sick of this! I’m so sick and tired of hearing everyone. I just want it to go away.” Lilith pouted.
The difference between the two young ladies was striking. Today Lilith had eyes as grey as a storms, where Lyla’s were blue except a small gold spot where her demon would shine. Lilith had wavy platinum blonde dyed hair down to the middle of her back, a heart shaped face, pouty lips and a round nose. Her sister on the other hand had her curly hair dyed a neon blue down to her lower back, with more of an oval face, heart shaped lips and a small pointy nose. They were as different as day and night. Their personality was as different as their looks; where Lyla and her demon preferred solitude, Lilith loved to be surrounded by the world. The world was beautiful to her, and nature was therapeutic to her broken soul.
“Oh my dear sister, have you learned nothing? I’ve taught you to block so many times. You’re the one who forgets to maintain it,” Lyla set her book down on the table crossing her arms.
“I just want it to go away! I don’t want to have to keep reminding myself to block. Between hearing their thoughts, my visions and everything else I can’t think straight.”
“Well if you would meditate and breathe maybe it would be a bit easier.” Her sister rolled her eyes. Her patience wearing thin today.
Heaven forbid she actually admitted her sister was right. Lilith stood there arms crossed staring at her, Lyla’s demon was on edge today. The gold speck swirling, almost taking over the rest of the blue. Lilith had a problem with the little leach, whom she believed was draining her sister’s soul. Pira had tricked Lyla years ago into hosting her, or that’s how Lilith felt.
Lyla sighed and picked the book up that she had been reading, “here read this. It’s a binding spell and will bind the power temporarily. It will at least give you time to get through the storms.”
Lilith smiled and started towards her sister, hands clapping like she was a child. She knew she was being childlike, but she had Lyla smiling. In the end Lilith would do anything and everything to see Lyla smile. She wrapped her arms around Lyla’s neck and laid her head on her shoulder. Lyla rested her head on Lilith’s and they sat there in the silence. They had always been together, and in a month’s time they would be separated. The reality of the situation had yet to fully sink in.
