Tan's POV.
*slap*
The sound echoed in my ears and around the garage.
This was nothing new to me though. My ex's new girlfriend and her crew always had it out for me, thinking I still had feelings for him even though I was the one to end it after finding the pair of them together in his bed at his parents' beach house. These girls would try and hit or degrade me, but I was smart and knew how to ignore them and just use the situations to collect evidence like videos and recordings to use against them in the future if they ever crossed me again.
My wolf, Eden, stirred in the back of my mind, growling at the action.
'Stop growling like that. They're human, we can't attack them here without exposing ourselves and all shifters.' I scolded her.
' I didn't mean to kill them or anything like that, just fight back a little.' She moaned.
'We can't, not here.' was my reply as I put up a mental block. I didn't want these girls to see my eyes clouded over while I spoke to my wolf.
"You f*****g w***e!" the new girlfriend screamed. "Stay away from Chris. He didn't want you then and he sure as hell doesn't want you now."
She wiped her hands on her perfect skirt as if she had just touched trash or something, not just slapped me across the face.
"I have already told you Serena, he's all yours. The only reason I am here right now is to collect the last of my belongings." I replied calmly, trying not to escalate the situation.
There may only be 2 of them here right now, and I could take them both without breaking a sweat. But they didn't know what I was or my true strength.
Being a wolf has its perks: heightened strength, speed, stamina, smell, sight and hearing. All of our senses were stronger than humans.
I tried to walk past them both but neither one of them made a move to get out of my way.
Gale, the other girl, stepped in front of me, fully blocking the doorway to my home.
That's right, my home. Not his, not hers.
I bought this place when I left my family and my pack to come here from Arizona, and once I met Chris, he moved in with me. Now, it just holds memories of betrayal.
"b***h, who the hell do you think you are? This ain't your home anymore. You got your s**t now, get out and leave." her voice grating my ears like nails on a chalkboard.
"I just need to grab the last box from the attic space. 5 minutes tops, and I'll be out of your perfectly styled hair, OK?" I kept my voice as calm as I could, which was hard with my wolf scratching at my mental block. "Here, I'll even give you my key, it's one box."
"No Way! Who knows what else you'll steal on your way out." Serena screamed. "Just give me the key and get lost before Chris gets home and..."
"Does what exactly?" I interrupted her, relishing the look on her face as I did. "Chris doesn't give a crap about me anymore, you made sure of that. And, I am so glad to be getting away from him and his s**t, present company included. Now, legally, this is still my house until midnight. You two are trespassing, so unless you want me to call the cops over a single box. Let. Me. Through."
I let a little of my intimidation from my wolf show through. I could see them both become unnerved.
"Not a chance. You're not stepping foot inside this house." Serena flatly refused to let me in. "Who the hell do you think you are? Speaking to me like that will earn you a more permanent lesson. Clearly the slap wasn't message enough."
"That's right b***h. We are going to teach you a lesson you'll learn the hard way: Don't f**k with us." Gale chimed in like the good little worker bee she is, backing up the Queen Bee like a pair of pathetic high school children.
"I don't have time for this. I have a plane to catch, so I am going into my house, like it or not, and you can't stop me. And if you think that you can, I'd like to see you try." I put on my best 'bored now' look on my face and tried once again to push past them both. They still didn't budge. "Seriously, move." I threatened.
Nothing. Neither one of them moved.
Guess this was going to be done the hard way.
