Chapter 12.

905 Words
Tan's POV. My father only caught the bit about Masters from what I had said. Typical. "Yes, in two days' time." I replied, but I wasn't about to let him into the meeting or try and push his own agenda. "But, this is a work meeting, not a pack meeting. You are not invited." "But Tanya, a partnership with Masters would be a lifeline to us here. We could form another alliance. We would have access to much better resources for growing the pack." My father said a little too happily. Where was the man that I knew growing up? "Alpha," I curtly called him, making him flinch. "I am making this as clear as I can, and I am recording this on my phone as proof going forwards. I refuse and reject the offer made without my consent to the arranged mating to whomever of the Blue Creek pack that you arranged. I did not consent when this deal was made, and I do not consent now." With that, I stormed out of his office and made my way back to my house. How I wish I could shift. I could do with a run. My mother tried to mind link me, but I put up a block and ignored her. Then my phone started to ring, my father's number popped up, and I ignored that too. I got back to my little house and decided that I needed to burn off some of the anger at what my parents had tried to do. I changed into some workout shorts and a tank top, grabbed my sneakers and headed over to the gym. Maybe punching something will make me feel a bit better. ****** Alpha Nile POV.. I couldn't believe it, my little girl was coming home, finally. I was angry when she told us that she was leaving to go to that college she was so adamant about. I felt like she was abandoning her family and her duties. She had been unbelievably stubborn when it came to trying to convince her to stay here and do online courses or to learn here within the pack. But, she had her heart set on it, so eventually her mother and I let her go. We were proud of her. Everything she had accomplished was through her own free will and determination and what more could we ask for. But, she was still an Alphas daughter and had responsibilities to the pack. One of them is able to bring in allies for us and help us expand and improve the lives of all the members of the pack. Blue Creek had approached us in the past about arranging a mating between one of our children and one of their ranked members children. We always refused though, wanting our children to have the chance to find their mates. When we learned that Tanya was coming home after breaking up with that human boy, we were elated, hoping that perhaps she had found a mate, and he would be strong and caring and would be able to help us thrive alongside Tanya. But, when she arrived, the guards informed us that she had not brought anyone with her. That's when we knew it was finally time to accept the offer from Blue Creek. Tanya was just over reacting and over thinking things. There had been rumors about Blue Creek, but nothing official was ever reported, and the rumors were baseless. So, we immediately contacted the alpha and accepted the deal. He had already e-mailed over a copy of the agreement with an Elders' signature on the bottom. We had to convince Tanya that this was a good thing, both for her and for the pack. ****** Unknown POV... That was her. Tanya Nightshade. The daughter of Alpha Nile and Luna Sera. She was the one from the plane. Admitted, I only saw the back of her head when she got off the plane and was gone before I could catch up to her. But, even so, she was my mate. The hair was the right colour and something about her face was mesmerizing to me. She was supposed to be living in Montana with a human boyfriend, but she had caught him cheating, so she decided to come back to her home pack which is here in Arizona, the Nightshade Pack. The same one that I had a meeting with someone from in two days. I hoped that it would be her as she was listed as being employed by Knight Architecture. But, it didn't list the job title. My Beta, Thomas, had already found out as much about her as he could. She was beautiful, stubborn, strong-willed, caring and smart. She went and left her pack to pursue a career in architecture and college. She joined Knight through the apprenticeship scheme but when it ended, there was no more information. But, everything about her seemed to be perfect to me. I had Thomas go ahead and contact the Nightshades' beta to arrange a meeting between myself and the Alpha's family as I was visiting their territory. They didn't know I was here on business or that I suspected Tanya to be my mate. They didn't need to know that until I was 100% sure. What he came back with and informed me of. Made me and my wolf more furious than I had ever felt before.
