Unknown POV.
She was here.
My mate was here on this plane somewhere.
My wolf was going insane in my mind.
He wanted to tear this plane apart piece by piece to find her, claim, mate and mark her right now.
It was taking everything in me to keep him at bay.
It didn't help when I caught another whiff of her scent, a mixture of Lavender and Wild Jasmine, when a group of women were standing by the toilets. I couldn't be sure which one she was. There were two blondes, but they were both human. It was unlikely that one of them was my mate. Human and wolf matings weren't unheard of, but for an Alpha wolf like myself, it would be very rare.
There was also a red head and 2 brunettes and a petit chestnut-haired woman. They were wolf shifters and all of them were beautiful, but only one of them was my mate, but for some reason I couldn't tell which one. The scent wasn't overly strong, almost like she was masking it or something. The perks of being an Alpha, I could always detect a scent, no matter how small it was, but she was making it difficult to pinpoint which one. The only way I could know for sure was to look into her eyes.
Defeated, I returned to my seat, but it was becoming hard to focus, knowing she could be sat right behind me and I couldn't pick her out.
Tan's POV.
We made our final descent to Scottsdale airport, and finally I was back home.
I managed to keep my scent masked for the most part of the remainder of the flight. I couldn't risk being caught out by my mate here, there were too many humans and we would risk exposure. Male wolves are very possessive and protective of their mates. I've heard of males fighting to the death to protect their mates from danger. I didn't want that aspect of it, sure they were also loving and caring and would literally do anything for their mates, the possessiveness and over-protectiveness would be suffocating to me. I was my own woman and, to be honest, at 24, had lost faith in me finding my mate. I had built a life for myself and I wouldn't allow some stranger to dictate my future.
As we disembarked the plane, I felt eyes on me again. This time it was more focused. I think my mate may have just caught onto me and I had no doubt that he would be trying his hardest, not only to keep his wolf in check, but also to get to me. Eden, however, was a fan of that option. I was not. I masked my scent as hard as I could and made my way quickly to the baggage collection area and once I had my bags, I made a very speedy pace to the nearest exit and called a taxi to the local car hire place.
Once I got to the car hire, I breathed a sigh of relief. I managed to make it through the plane journey, baggage claim and now to the car hire without being tackled by my potential mate. Now, I just needed to get back to my pack.
The drive out to the packlands didn't take too long. Thankfully, the traffic was on my side, and I was able to get out of the terminal without too much of a hold up. After an hour of driving, I pulled over at a gas station to top up and grab something to drink.
When I entered the store, a foul smell assaulted my nostrils and made my wolf's hackles stand on end, alert and ready.
Rogues.
3 of them.
Unknown POV.
I found her.
I caught her scent as she walked past me.
She was indeed beautiful, from behind, as that's all I saw of her.
She was about 5ft 7in, she was the one with the chestnut coloured hair, a beautiful body. She looked strong and elegant. She simply looked perfect.
I didn't catch her face nor did I get the chance to catch up with her once I departed the plane. Her scent was gone. I couldn't detect even the faintest hint as to which way she went. I looked for her at the baggage claim, but it was clear she had been in a hurry to get somewhere fast.
I wouldn't stop until I found her. I liked a bit of a chase.
"Thomas." I called my beta who had just arrived at the departure terminal. "I need you to get a copy of the flight manifest from the flight I was just on. Your future Luna was on board, but she gave me the slip. I need passport photographs and names."
"Future Luna, huh?" Thomas asked. "Why didn't you claim her on the plane, sir?"
"That would risk exposing our kind and I have a feeling she was thinking along the same lines because she kept masking her scent so that I couldn't find her." I replied as I got into the car.
"No problem sir, I will take care of it." Thomas said as he shut the door and pulled out his phone to start making phone calls.
Soon, sweet mate, I will find you.
