Eric started to think while Phoenix helped him by saying...

Eric was silent for a moment, and he thought about Carl, in pain because of him.
Eric sat up and looked toward Phoenix with a smile.
"You're a great Phoenix, I found her!"
Phoenix concealed his cunning smile as he already knew but nevertheless asked him.1

"Seeing Carl's face in pain..and making my ears rejoice to hear his symphony of groan
