News traveled fast once Diane got involved, which meant that by Monday morning, Mara's phone was flooded with messages from relatives she hadn't spoken to since the wedding reception over a year ago.
"Aunt Carol wants to know if she's invited to give a toast," Mara said, scrolling through her phone at breakfast. "She's already drafting one, apparently. Says it involves several inappropriate stories from your childhood."
"God help us." Jonah poured coffee, looking simultaneously amused and terrified. "Tell her absolutely not, and also please send the draft so I know what to prepare for."
