Chapter 3 Selling Herself

1007 Words
Alicia turned and walked away without looking at Charles once. Charles's thin lips twitched slightly. "How long has she been with Noah?" Noah's mother, Emily, scoffed. "It's been a year, but even if it were a decade, they wouldn't work out. Besides the fact that they're not a good match, Noah isn't serious about this girl. He's just playing around with her... Are you actually interested in this little vixen?" Charles replied ambiguously, "Just asking." "I thought you had changed your taste, but it's not very realistic anyway. How could Alicia replace that woman in your heart?" *** Alicia returned to the hospital room and saw someone inside. It was Noah. But Alicia saw this coming. She took a look at her mother, who was still unconscious on the bed, and didn't want to disturb her so she said, "Let's talk outside." Noah suppressed his anger. He pulled Alicia into an empty stairwell rudely and questioned, "Who gave you the courage to break up with me?" Looking at his angry face, Alicia found it amusing. "You slept with my stepsister, Amelia, and got me fired. Why would I still wanna be with you?" Noah sneered, "I was just drunk and mistook your Amelia for you. Your job is tiring and you are poorly paid so it doesn't matter if you lose it. Besides, I've always given you money, haven't I?" Alicia took in a deep breath. She broke free from his grip and calmly declared, "Noah, my mother's illness was caused by my stepmother and stepsister. Amelia has been stealing things from me since we were kids. Anything she touched, I found repulsive. I will pay you back the money you spent on me before. We're done." Noah frowned, "Are you serious?" He chuckled coldly, "I can let go of the gambling debts I paid for your father. But your mother's medical expenses are different." "You paid his debts?" "Your father begged me on his knees, Alicia. I don't do charity. Why would I give that money to someone unrelated?" Noah mocked. Alicia looked at him, feeling a mix of bitterness and sadness. "Send me your bank account. I'll repay you once I earn enough money." Their relationship had to end no matter what. Noah was irritated by this humiliation. He caught her chin and wanted to kiss her with force. But it only reminded Alicia that his lips had touched Amelia's so she slapped him across the face without hesitation! "We've already broken up. Please have some self-respect!" Noah stopped, licked his sore lip, and his eyes filled with a hint of darkness. "Alicia, what's with the pretending? Can it save your sick mother?" He remained calm and lowered his voice. "I will make sure the hospital takes good care of your mother." Alicia's pupils contracted, and she grabbed Noah. "What do you mean?" "You're a smart girl. Don't you know what I mean?" Noah smirked, the indulgence in his tone mixed with a hint of danger. "Alicia, even though your sister is quite wild in bed, I still prefer you. When will you offer yourself to me?" Alicia felt nauseous. She berated herself for falling for such a man and said coldly, "If you dare lay a finger on my mother, you’ll regret it!" Noah laughed disdainfully, "I look forward to seeing you come crawling back to me." After he left, Alicia stood there, thinking about what to do next. In despair, she curled up, hugged herself, and silently let the tears out. Suddenly, a faint smell of tobacco wafted into her nostrils. Alicia looked up and saw Charles. He was standing in the aisle, looking down at her. With a flick of his long fingers, he tapped the cigarette ash, exuding an air of nobility. From that angle, Alicia's red eyes looked quite pitiful. Charles wasn't a heartless man; he felt some pity seeing her like this. Alicia suddenly made up her mind. She forced a smile that looked worse than crying and said, "Mr. Lawson, do you still want your coat back?" Charles burst into laughter, but his tone remained calm, composed, and elegant. "Didn't you wish to see me never?" Alicia gathered her courage. "But here we are, seeing each other again." Between adults, some things didn't need to be explicitly stated; they understood each other perfectly. He threw away the cigarette butt and said, "Nurses are looking after your mother here. Let me take you home first." Alicia couldn't believe what she just heard. Did it work out just like that? It seemed too easy. The car arrived at her place, but Alicia couldn't get out. Charles held her close, sitting her on his lap, their bodies close and warmth emanating between them. Alicia wasn't coy, but rather more proactive. She undid her clothes, revealing her soft skin, and closed her eyes as she offered herself to the man in front of her. Perhaps because she had done it once before, she seemed skilled in kissing, but she was still not very good at this. Charles's eyes darkened. He held Alicia's slender waist and she could feel his breath spreading on her shoulder. "I'm quite picky. Once I set my eyes on someone, they can't have even the slightest connection with anyone else, not even my nephew." Alicia stiffened immediately. Charles lightly stroked her back, staring at her blushing ears, and smirked. Alicia deflected, "I didn't plan this on purpose and I didn't know you are his uncle." Charles scoffed, "Do you regret it? Are you afraid?" Alicia locked eyes with him. Truth be told, she didn't regret it at all. On the contrary, she felt escalated because Charles, in every aspect, overshadowed Noah. What was even more thrilling was that he was Noah's uncle! When the truth came to light one day, Noah would probably be so furious that he'd drop dead on the spot. Just as Alicia was about to speak up, she suddenly felt a cool sensation on her body as Charles removed her last piece of clothes.
