Chapter 6 It Can't Be Her

1154 Words
Alicia blushed, sitting meekly in the passenger seat, her eyes sparkling with a tender pink hue. She looked somewhat pitiful, which Charles liked. Pausing briefly, Noah, who hurriedly caught up from behind, asked, "What's wrong? Did you forget something in the private room?" "Nothing." Charles dismissed him with a few words and got into the car. There was a faint scent of alcohol inside the car, and the air was charged with an ambiguity that ignited like flames of desire in an instant. Charles wasn't impulsive enough to have s*x in the car right at the hotel entrance. He lightly furrowed his brow and drove ahead. Noah drove alongside him. Both cars came to a stop at the traffic lights. Although the tinted windows concealed most of what was going on in there, there was still a gap at the top. Noah tilted his head and vaguely saw the silhouette of a woman inside Charles' car. "Uncle Charles, who's the lady in your car? Don't you want to introduce her to me?" Charles glanced at Alicia, amusingly lowered the window on her side, and just as the glass was about to reveal her face, he stopped. "Are you scared?" he said, looking at the slight frown on her face. As if to show some toughness, Alicia leaned over and kissed the man voluntarily. Noah became curious about the woman. She dared to fool around in broad daylight on the main road; she was quite wild. Following her lead, Charles gradually took control and kissed her until she found it hard to resist. "Mr. Lawson, we haven't finished what we started last time," she said with a hazy gaze and a sweet voice. Charles was totally aroused by her actions. A glint of cruelty appeared in his dark eyes. "You're this bold?" Alicia asked, "Do you like it, Mr. Lawson?" Charles curled his lips. His well-defined fingers rhythmically tapped the steering wheel, and the car sped up faster than the countdown of the traffic light ahead. The car raced, and the wind blew Alicia's hair up. In an instant, Noah felt a tightness in his heart. Under the woman's disheveled long hair, why did that vague profile feel so familiar to him? He inexplicably felt agitated and had a sense of loss as if something dear had been taken away. Could that woman be Alicia? Noah quickly pulled over to the side and quickly found her phone number on his phone. "Alicia, if you don't want to die, answer my call right now." Alicia listened to the vibration coming from her phone and looked at the screen displaying a number that couldn't be more familiar, feeling a suffocating sensation wash over her. She suppressed her nausea and hung up the phone, but the next second, the phone rang again. Several consecutive calls filled her call log with red marks. Noah's calls would probably not stop until she answered. Biting her lip, she hesitated and finally answered the latest incoming call. "Alicia, how dare you ignore my calls! Tell me, where are you right now?!" Noah slammed his hand on the steering wheel, and the car honked sharply in the silent night. Listening to the furious roar on the other end, Alicia remained unfazed and calmly replied, "Where I am now is none of your business." Noah felt a lump in his throat, his face turning red. "Fine, you'd better watch out. Don't think that I won't find you just because you're not telling me. Don't forget, your family's debts still rely on me..." Even Charles could hear the shouting from the other end of the phone. He caught a glimpse of Alicia's uneasy expression from the corner of his eye and said, "If you get off now, you can still go back to him." "Who's talking beside you? Alicia, do you know what will happen if you upset me? You..." Noah's voice grew urgent, and his reflection in the rearview mirror looked ferocious. "I have no regrets, keep driving." Before he could finish, Alicia hung up the phone. Hearing the sound of the line being cut off from her phone, Noah's anger soared, and he angrily threw the phone onto the back seat. He couldn't have misheard that man's voice, ... No... How could it be him? Noah found it absurd. Alicia and his uncle? It’s not possible! Charles already had someone he deeply loved! As Noah denied this assumption, he stepped on the gas pedal frantically, changing direction towards Charles' mansion. ... At Charles' private mansion. The path leading into the house was littered with the torn remnants of Alicia's clothes, scattered all over the floor. Charles was good at this. Alicia didn't end up in bed with him last time only because she was drunk. This time, she fell for him quickly as well, but at a critical moment, she held onto Charles' hand. "Mr. Lawson, my mother's surgery was successful. Thank you." Charles let out a sigh and hoarsely said, "I don't want to hear your verbal thanks right now." "I'm sorry." Alicia swallowed hard and buried her head in his neck, giving him a barely perceptible kiss. Charles knew that the woman before him had genuinely liked his playboy nephew. Just as he was about to pull away, Alicia suddenly froze, her long legs hooking around his waist. Boldly, she hooked her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately. Waking up from a deep sleep after their intense s*x, Alicia found herself wearing a clean men's shirt, lying in bed. Dragging her sore body, she found Charles in the study. Perhaps due to the darkness, his silhouette while smoking seemed somewhat desolate. Charles flicked his cigarette and said, "Don't just stand there, come in." Alicia snapped out of her daze, unsure how he had noticed her, and walked inside barefoot. Charles saw her feet and took off his shoes for her to step on, then handed her a check. The amount was neither too much nor too little, exactly five hundred thousand. "Noah is still young and impulsive. I'm taking care of what he promised today on his behalf." Alicia frowned and didn't take it. Charles couldn't help but laugh. "It doesn't conflict with what you asked of me." Only then did Alicia relax her brows and accept the check. Charles gazed at her intently. Alicia looked up, catching what Charles meant, and asked, "Mr. Lawson, do you think I'm tacky like this? I'm sorry, but I'm really tight on money right now." Charles slightly parted his thin lips and said, "No worries, I could appreciate both elegance and tackiness." He liked her unpretentious nature. Innocent and charming in bed, yet intelligent outside of it. Charles had some business matters to attend to, so Alicia sensibly left. Just as she had taken a few steps, she suddenly gasped and froze in place. Noah was blocking the entrance to the mansion!
