CHAPTER 32 Morgan sat in the empty bunkhouse. The last few weeks, his mood had gone from shoddy to shoddier. No wonder the other hands steered clear of him. He tugged on his boots and stood. But that wasn’t an excuse for Charley to steer clear. It was her fault he was irritable. She either stayed in the main house or had Cal accompany her outside. She knew he’d never approach her with Cal or anyone else around. Damn her. All he wanted was a private conversation. No. That wasn’t true. He wanted her. But the hellcat wouldn’t even give him a fleeting glance. Morgan shoved his hat on his head. Well, he was putting a stop to that today. Today, she’d listen if he had to hogtie and gag her. Because if he didn’t, he’d never get a word in. He left the bunkhouse and the sun burst into his eyes.
