Chapter 13

Arianna I was supposed to be getting ready for class, yet all I was doing was dancing & singing to Beyoncé's "Love on Top". I must have heard this song million times yet today all the lyrics were really hitting me. I guess what they say is true, you never really have heard a song until you feel lyrics and today and every other day since Tristan revealed our love for each other I was feeling good and loved. "Can you do more getting ready and less singing and dancing?" Monica yelled sounding annoyed from the outside of the bathroom door. "Aww, someone's salty early this morning." I said opening the bathroom door and walking up to Monica and pretended to pout. "You need to tone down this new cheery and happy you early this morning? You and Tristan been walking around cheesing like ya'll done won the lottery or something. And I'm not salty I just don't wanna be late for class, so let's go." She said grabbing her backpack "You sounding like me now and you're never this grumpy in the morning? What's up?" I said grabbing my bag as well. I looked Monica over and was surprised at what I saw. She had on some oversized Adidas sweats that looked like they belonged to Zaire with some tan uggs, her hair was thrown into a high ponytail and she had on no makeup. For any other girl this would be okay, but Monica never steps out of the house wearing sweats or without at least filling in her eyebrows. Something is definitely going on with my girl. "Umm.. nothing. I just want to get to class on time, dang is that too much to ask for?" she snapped. "No, let's get going." I agreed not wanting to push the subject any longer. We locked up our dorm room and headed on the way to our argument's and persuasions class. * 1 hour later* Why won't this lady just shut up already? I should've just taken this class online. I thought as my professor Mrs. Woodberry rambled on about something. I couldn't tell you what went on in that class and zoned out and started thinking about everything else but what she was talking about. "Okay, class that's all for today. Don't forget to read chapters 10 & 11 and be prepared to discuss what you've read next class." Mrs. Woodberry managed to drag out. Monica and I were both up and practically running for the door before she could finish her sentence. That woman could put a person with insomnia to sleep easily with one of her lectures. She talks so slow as if she enjoys putting her students through her dull and lifeless commentary. I thought this class was going to be a breeze, boy was I wrong. "Uh, excuse me?" someone tapped me on my shoulder. I turned around to see a girl who stood about 5'6, jet back hair, looked to mixed with something exotic. Her face was caked with way too much makeup and her clothes were so tight her ass looked like it was about to burst right out of her jeans. Other than that was a cute girl, but she was trying way too hard. "Are you Arianna Taylor?" she smiled. "Yeah, who would like to know?" "Hi, I'm Alicia Ramirez "she extended her hand for me to shake. I shook her hand quickly and returned my hand back by my side. I need to know why this girl knows my name and what does she want. "I was just wondering if you could let me borrow your biology notes. I was sick last week so I missed class. I stopped by Professor Wilson's office and he referred me to you because you're one of his best students." She continued. "Wow, that's something. I'm really not the best note taker, but I guess I could let you borrow what I have." "Anything would help me at this moment. Thanks girl." She said wrapping me in a hug before I could react to her sudden movements. Well, this is awkward. "Sorry about that. I'm just happy you agreed to help me." "Cool, so let me get your number so I can let you know where and when to meet up with me to get the notes. I don't have them on me right now." We exchanged numbers and I met up with a mean mugging Monica waiting for me by the entrance to the building. "What's with the little miss peppy?" Monica asked "She just wanted to borrow my biology notes that's all." "Is she even in your class?" "I never seen her before, she's probably in one of Mr. Wilson's other biology classes." I shrugged "Yeah right, something's up with that cheery heffa I can feel it. She was too happy and friendly towards you." "She seemed cool, yea she was a little too peppy for my liking but I don't care all the girl is doing is borrowing my notes. We ain't friends or nothing." Right after I got those words out of my mouth, I heard a car horn blow and I knew exactly who that was. "There goes lover boy now" Monica said pointing at Tristan in his car not paying any attention to us. The boy was sitting there in the car rapping along to whatever was playing and he was so into it, it was funny. "Alright, chick. I'll see you later when I done with tutoring crazy over there." "We both know that's a lie. That tutoring session is going to turn into make out session before it even starts and then ya ass gone wind up in that bed of his cuddling up to chest. "She laughed I just stood there and shot her daggers before I started walking toward the car. "What? Stop looking at me like that you know I'm right." She folded her arms across her chest as Tristan blew his horn again. Monica ran over to his window and motioned for him to let it down. Once he did, she snapped "Don't be blowing no horn at my girl, Tristan. She gone get to ya happy ass fast enough." She reached in the car and smacked the back of his head. "Damn, Mon chill. I'm sorry shit." Tristan said rubbing the spot Monica just smacked. "That's what I thought." She said soundly proud of herself. "Hey baby" I said sliding into the passenger seat. "Hey, bae." He said reaching over for a kiss. "Eww, PDA. I don't need to see that." "Now, you see how we felt when you and Z first got together." I said pulling away from my baby's super soft lips. "You need a ride Mon? I know Zaire got class for another hour or so, you wanna roll with us?" Tristan asked. "And be a third wheel. I'll pass. I got something to take care of anyway." "You sure?' I asked "Yes, Tae. I'm sure. You two have fun studying." She said making sure she used air quotes for studying. "s**t, we sure will." Tristan said looking at me up and down seductively biting his lip. I had on some ripped jeans that showed off a good part of my thighs, a black cami under a cameo button up unbuttoned and being used like a cardigan the sleeves were rolled up to my elbows, some gold bow studs in my ears, a gold chain necklace and matching bracelet and my hair was parted to the side and slightly feathered. For my shoes I had on some original colored timberlands. I had this tomboy s***h girly thing going on, I was cute. "Stop looking at me like you want to eat me" I playfully hit him in the chest. "OUCH! Kimbo Slice. Ya'll girl's gone stop hitting me." "Whatever Tristan just drive. Bye Monica girl" I waved as we drove off. We had been driving in a comfortable silence for about five minutes before I realized we were going in the opposite direction of the campus library. "Where are you taking me Tristan?" "Back to my apartment, duh." "Why? We have a session scheduled at the library and if we go to your apartment we are not getting any work done." "That's the point, babe." He smiled over at me before turning his attention back on the road. "You little sly dog, turn the car around or someone's going to be put on restrictions." "What the hell are restrictions?" he questioned "It's where you keep your roaming hands to yourself. No kissing or inappropriate touching allowed. Basically you in the dog house, have fun chewing on ya bone." I laughed "Man, that's f'ed up. That's like being back in the friend zone." He said as he turned the car around going back in the direction we should've been going in the first place. I'm glad my threat worked. "It is what it is, baby. Behinds you love it." I smiled brightly "You know I do." He assured me "Babe, has Zaire been acting strange lately?" "Naw, not that I noticed. He seems cool. Why you asked?" "It's just that Monica was acting weird and moody today. I was just wondering if they had an argument or something." "Well, if something's up you know whatever it is they will tell us." He placed his hand of my thigh. "I sure hope you're right." I said staring out the car window
