As I ran, I felt regret flood my veins when I realized that I had never truly integrated Lilac into the pack…so she didn’t have a mental link with anyone, not even me. At this rate, finding her would indeed be a herculean task since the expanse of my territory was huge to cover in just one night.
‘You never allowed her to develop a mental pack bond despite being with us for four years. Krimson, that's how unwelcomed you made her feel,’ Luca’s voice snapped inside my mind, adding to the guilt I was already feeling.
The words were like a physical blow, reminding me on exactly how I had failed to be the man that Lilac deserved. And I didn’t blame Luca when he said:
