Chapter 13

1146 Words
Tyler It was a little hard to sleep last night, a lot of tossing and turning. I’m actually very nervous about my date with Ariah. Shew doesn’t know I’m a werewolf and now, since she had her first shift, she's been able to sense me. With our kind we’re not able to sense other wolves until we shift the same as with our senses. They don’t heighted until our sixteenth birthday. We don’t find our mates until we’re twenty-one. I guess that’s the Moon Goddess way of allowing us to do whatever we please until we are “legal”. One of the main reasons my dad constantly pushes me to live a little as he calls it. I plan on spending the entire day with Ariah today, starting with breakfast, then I have a whole day planned out.  I woke up with the sun peeping through my window, looking to my left on the dresser and looking at the time. It was still early seven thirty, I stretched, grabbed my phone and texted Ariah letting her know I'd be there around nine to pick her up to start our day. Now to start my day, I rolled out of the bed and headed for the shower. I turned on the water to let it warm up then hopped in. The warm water hitting my body felt amazing. I washed my hair, then  face and soaped up, rinsed off and got out. I walked into my room with a towel over my head, not paying attention, and ran right into my mother. I jumped from being startled and she’s just smiling at me. I look down at her tiny figure (she’s small, four feet eleven inches, while I stand at five feet eight inches). I didn’t get the chance to talk to her yesterday about how everything went, so I’m sure that’s why she's here to get every detail. If I didn’t mention it before, me and my mom are really close, while the twins and my dad are close. “Soooo, are you going to let me know how everything went? Were you able to land the girl you’ve been pawning after? She says with a smile. I provided her with all the details of yesterday and my plans for today. Apparently, she was satisfied with my success and walked out the room with an even bigger smile. I hurried up and oil up and put my clothes on then check my phone to see if Ariah has responded. Luckily for me, she did and it was right on time. The conversation I had with my mom was longer than expected. I planned to be out of the house by eight thirty and pick her up by nine. I told her not to eat anything yet, wanting her to come with an appetite.  Ariah Last night kind of took a toll on me, from the party to the drama. I didn’t expect Nanami to overpower me and have everyone submit. Well, everyone except my mom. She was able to fight against submission.  I heard my phone dinging this morning and tried to ignore it but since I have a text reminder on it, it kept dinging every five minutes. I really needed to turn it off, but I rolled over and sat up letting my eyes adjust to the bright sun shining through my deck door. I climbed out of bed and walked over to my dresser to see what crazy person was up this early texting my phone. I’m not really an early morning person, more of a late morning person. I see the crazy person is Tyler, saying he’ll be here by nine. I rush to the bathroom to shower and wash my hair. When I get out of the shower, I twist my hair to my scalp and blow dry it to get my 3c curls. Rambling through my closet looking for something to wear, I finally settled for something simple after I checked the weather and see it’s going to be decent today, not hot nor cold (we’re starting to welcome spring here). I toss my undershirt on and sky blue jeans with a rugrats long sleeve shirt and my bootie boots. An hour seems to have gone by and I text Tyler back letting him know I’ll be ready when he gets here. I sat in front of the mirror, rubbed some mango papaya oil on my hands and as I unraveled my twist, moisturized my hair with the oil. The finished look of my hair was beautiful, the bounce and body spoke volume. I skip downstairs and go straight for the kitchen to grab some fruit, something to hold me over since Tyler asked that I don’t eat (Moon Goddess knows I love to eat, so those few minutes will be torture). Not to mention I smell bacon and oatmeal. I was expecting to see my mom in the kitchen but instead it was my dad who was in the kitchen making breakfast. “Hey kiddo, did my wonderful cooking wake you?” I just looked at him and smirked, between them both, dad is the better cook but mom’s breakfast is always better for some reason. “No, I’m just grabbing some fruit, but I’ll take a strip or two of bacon.” I say with the biggest smile on my face. My dad goes to ask me where I’m going and when I’ll be back. Honestly, I don’t know where we’re going or what time I’ll be back, so I just wing it. Both my parents and Nesha have my location, not to mention the bracelet my mom has made me wear every since I started school. It’s enchanted with a location spell. Not too long after providing details to dad, my mom walks in smiling (she’s always smiling). She greets us with a good morning and gives me a hug, then kisses my cheek. When she stands in front of me, she asks me if I want to talk about last night. I get a little nervous and start shuffling my feet. Lucky for me Tyler has great timing and calls me to tell me he’s outside. “Ummm….we can talk about it later when I get back, my ride’s here.” I responded quickly and dashed for the door. I know we need to talk about what happened, but I can’t even explain it myself, so I don’t know how to explain it to them. When I walk outside Tyler is standing outside the car on the passenger side waiting for me. I sniff the air a little and can sense he is a wolf and he smells fantastic. I look at him with a raised eyebrow, and as if he can sense my confusion he instantly says “I can explain”.
