I’ve had a crush on little Ariah since I first laid eyes on her, she's that cute, smart and shy girl. I’m sure if you push her hard enough she’ll show you that fire that’s within her, I know she’s powerful because that aura that rolls off of her tells it. I don’t think she even pays me any attention to be honest, I’ve made sure I was partnered with her whenever we had group assignments. I even played off as if I didn’t understand something that required her personal assistance (even though I’m fourth ranked in our school because Ariah is first). I know tomorrow is her birthday and I have something planned for her. I know for a fact she’s going to be shocked and surprised because I’ve never made a pass at her, maybe I was always waiting for the right time. We’ll be graduating and even going to the same college. I'd like to get her and have her as mine before we go off to college. There's no telling how many other guys will try to go for her.
After a little shopping, I’m in the family room watching TV and my mom comes in and sits next to me smiling big. “Hey ma, what’s the big smile for?” She’s still smiling without saying a word for another couple seconds then she finally spills. “I saw you walked in with over a dozen balloons, a dozen flowers and two hands of gift bags…. Now are those things for a certain someone you’ve been crushing on for the past four years?” She still hasn't stopped smiling which makes me smile and shake my head, my mom is unbelievable. “Yes, tomorrow is her birthday and I’m going to ask her to prom as well. I figured a few gifts and balloons for her birthday and roses for the prom question. Do you think I may have gone overboard?“ I talk to my mom about everything, especially Ariah and she’s been nothing but a support. She’s been telling me to go for her since the first day I mentioned her as my crush. She has always told me how her and my dad met, he’s the alpha of our pack which is called the Island Breeze Pack. We literally stay on an island, think of Belle Island. “No, not at all. You have to court her son. Let her know you’re interested, I think it’s sweet. I can’t wait for you to tell me about it!” My mother literally squeals with the biggest smile and claps her hands. I can’t help but smile back, my mom literally has that about her. Her smile is contagious, all her positivity and happiness rubs off on you.
My dad keeps telling me to play the field and not ‘settle’, he’s been saying that for a year now, when I turned sixteen. His famous words “the Moon Goddess doesn’t bless us with mates until we’re twenty one for a reason. She allows us to live a little before settling down.” I’m not like my dad though, I don’t go for every female that has thrown herself at me, honestly I’ve never been with anyone. I might flirt, but that’s it, I’ve never been attracted to them. Main reason I’m surprised with myself when it comes down to Ariah. When I found myself being attracted to her that’s when I had to tell my mom, she even knows these girls don't catch my attention. When I was telling her about it, my father overheard and of course had to provide his opinion. He also doesn’t want me to really date or do anything serious due to potentially having a mate out there somewhere. He may be right about not getting too serious, but I can see Ariah in my future if neither one of us ever gets our mate. Lucky for me Ariah knows our species and I’m sure she’ll be understanding as I would be as well when that time comes.

The day is coming to an end and I’m excited for tomorrow, I’m really looking forward to the outcome. I have everything planned out, I’ll be honest and say I am a little nervous as far as the prom question. I’m sure she knows I find her attractive so that’s not going to shock her, it’s going to be the birthday gifts I know for sure. She tries to hide her birthday from everyone, she’s the type who keeps it hush hush and doesn’t make a big deal out of it. Given I’ve always paid attention to her, she’s always super excited and in a great mood. What I’ve noticed is her dad always gives her a birthday card with sweet words before she gets out of the card and that makes her day. Not to mention I may or may not have overheard her talking to Nesha ( Nesha is her BestFriend) a few times back about her birthday. Every year her family does an Intimate gathering with just close family and friends, every year Nesha is part of that but not this year. I know it’s because it’ll be Ariah’s first shift and given Nesha is human it’ll be hard to explain why a teenage girl is now a wolf. While I’m thinking about it, let me shoot Nesha a text to make sure she’s still helping me tomorrow she said she’ll help with the set up.
Me: Hey Nesha, just making sure I still have your assistance tomorrow.
Nesha: Hey Ty! Of course you can count on me to make sure my Sweet Girl is happy.
I can’t wait to see her face and reaction. You know she’s shy and all that attention
is going to make her nervous. But I’ll be there to make sure she doesn’t run away.LOL
Spotlight has never been her thing.
Me: I know, that’s why I’m going to do it during oddessy (that’s one of her free periods). She’s
always in the back stairway reading a book.
Nesha: I’m excited and can’t wait! See you tomorrow.
