CHAPTER FOURTEENJahleysa led Marquan through the door of her home; he was taken by surprise by the dinner she’d prepared for them. The lights were out, but the burning candles around their meal, which was on the kitchen table, provided enough light for them to see. The dish for the day was a slowly roasted game hen which was stuffed and lying on a bed of rice. There was cornbread, black eye peas, greens and yams. Sitting off to the side was a very expensive black bottle of champagne with red wrapping around its neck.
