Xander “Xander.” Samantha whispered, fear in her voice. “Shh.” I said with a finger to my lips. I stepped off the porch, my footsteps light. I picked up the rake that lay on the floor and advanced towards the noise in the bushes, alert. There was definitely something or someone in there and whatever it was was large and coming closer and closer. It was almost by the edge, a few more feet and it would come out into the open. I lifted the rake above my head, ready to swing when a yellow head popped its head out and I stopped short. The golden labrador barked happily at me, its tongue lolling happily out of its mouth, not a care in the world as to its safety.
