Anika held a g*n to Xander, her hands shaking slightly. Her face was a mixture of anger, betrayal and something else I couldn’t identify.
“Anika-” Xander called, moving to stand in front of me.
“Shut up! You!” Anik said, pointing the g*n at me now. Xander moved again, covering the majority of my body with his and he held out a hand. “This is all your fault!”
“Sam didn’t do anything, Anika. Please, put down the g*n and we can talk.” Xander pleaded, trying to reason with her but Anika shook her head.
“I said, shut up! If she disappears, then so does everything else. No one finds out about you, Xander, or me. We can be together.” Anika said, her pupils dilating to giant circles.
“That’s not going to happen, Anika. Just let us go.”
