LEO She was still trembling from the aftershocks when I carried her into the shower. I set her on the marble bench, stripped off what was left of our clothes, and turned the water on hot. Steam filled the glass enclosure instantly. She didn’t fight me when I stepped in behind her, just let me pull her back against my chest while the spray beat down on both of us. We just stood there.
