My heart is overwhelmed by the way Adrian is trying to accept my presence. It is evident that Sage feels slightly skeptical but I can see it on her face that she loves it the moment me and Adrian shake hands.
I know for a fact that even if I didn't know Sage, I would still feel the pure urge to ensure that no harm comes to this boy.
It killed me to see the way Adrian had looked so terrified and tired the moment I had entered this office. The pure vulnerability in his eyes should not have overlapped his innocence. And more than that, the way he clung to Sage, told me that most of all he was scared of losing her.
I’m not going to let anything happen to these two. I vow to ensure that.
