“KC, what do you think of this place isn’t it fun. I know I am, I’m having lots of fun, the games, the rides, the animals, the food, the drinks, even the candy.” Christoff said in so much excitement and fun he was having; he made me smile, Heck him and his family makes me smile. “yes Christoff, I’m having so much fun.” I replied, giving him my irresistible amused smile, it’s hard not wanting to love any child who wants to get to know you, be around you, be friends with you, even wants to spend some time with you when you’re too busy working on something else. Especially Cel Mic, who’s been walking beside me the whole time we were moving around the Fairground going on ride, after ride, after ride, both Mr. and Mrs. McKnight said I could go on some of the ride that I would like to go on with them while the one or the other would be taking turns holding Cel Mic’s leash for me, that way I could join the fun, sometimes it would be myself with Christoff, myself with Mrs. McKnight, Myself with Christoff and Mrs. McKnight, and other times it would be myself with Christoff and Mr. McKnight, and I would say this, I’m glad I get to have some fun once in an occasionally, I’m sure Father Lord wouldn’t mind, as long as I get back to work once I’m done; which I would. I just like this feeling; to feel like I finally belong somewhere, don’t have to feel that loneliness, feeling unwanted, all of it. and with everything’s been going on around me, from both Mickey McCain, and now Christoff McKnight, I really do feel all of this, and it’s all thanks to these kids.  Though every time I would go on a ride with Christoff, Mrs. McKnight, and/or Mr. McKnight. whoever would have Cel Mic; Cel Mic would make her cute little baa sounds out to me, wanting me to come back to her so she wouldn’t feel like she was gone a lose me or something, I smiled down to her from up the water slide, but without the water, just a very big wavy slide, and shouted out to her. “I’m alright Cel Mic, I’ll be right down baby girl.” While I said this; Cel Mic made another one of her cute little Goat sound to me, when I came down the wavy slide Cel Mic was making her sounds while wagging her little ring tail very fast, happy and excited to see her protector was coming to her.  Mr. and Mrs. McKnight were joining the smiling and laughing with everyone else who was watching Cel Mic wagging her cute little tail and making noises at me, some of the other children were giggling the way the Fawn was doing, then asked their parents if they could pet the fawn, so each parent would go up to Mr. and Mrs. McKnight and asked them if their child(ren), rather if it was a son, a daughter, or both, could pet the fawn. either Mr. or Mrs. McKnight would call out my name to ask me to come over to them, from whatever ride I was coming off from I would go straight up to them, and that’s where they would tell me what the other parent had asked them. both McKnight’s and I knew it would take a while for Cel Mic to get use to them that’s why they would call me first. then I would instructed the other child(ren) of what they would have to do first before he, or she, could pet the Fawn without scaring her, and everyone is happy. Now, we’re in line to get on the Merry-Go-Round, that way all four of us could get on, I looked down to see Cel Mic was wagging her tail again with excitement, only this time she’s going on a ride with me. I smiled down at Cel Mic till I heard Mrs. McKnight was calling out my name to get my attention.               “I’m glad KC, and I still couldn’t believe you’ve never been to the fair before; wasn’t there any fun excitement places from where you’ve lived?” Mrs. McKnight asked me in wondered.           I shook my head to her. “but if there was a fair like this, I could never go to the place because my family didn’t have had enough money to take me and my siblings.” I discussed with her and her family, Mrs. McKnight nodded sadly in understanding and left it to that, and I’m grateful to her and for her family.           “I see. How do you say her name again KC?” Mr. McKnight asked me while we were in line to get on the Merry-Go-Round. “Cel Mic, Mr. McKnight. it means little one in Romania, but if it’s hard to say her name, you could just call her little one, I’m sure she’ll understand.” I offered to Mr. McKnight. “Thank you, KC, I hope she would. any ways, it looks like she’s in joying the company whenever someone comes up and asked to pet her, she even looks good in that dog lace you bought for her.” He announces, and I would have to agree with him; and I had to give my prodigy points, though I do hate it when he’s right.                                           *****                   The night after Leo was killed, ashes and all, Tom and I headed straight to McKnight’s house, I had to make sure they were ok, and if they were save, as I walked onto their property, the Atmosphere told me everything was fine, and so now I could get to relaxed. nothing happened to them. yet. but glad it wasn’t tonight, but it doesn’t mean anything, Catherine's enemies would show up at any time, at any day or night so I still have to keep a look out till that time comes, and I would be ready for them. I said my good-byes to Tom, then headed into the house with Cel Mic safe and sleeping in my arms.           When I walked into the house, both Mr. and Mrs. McKnight looked up to me with a warming smile on their faces, till they both saw a baby Blanket that I was holding, they both got up from the couch at the same time to see if it was really a baby I was holding, well it was a baby, but not what they were thinking.           Mrs. McKnight was the first, with Mr. McKnight right beside her, who came up to me, slowly put her hands on the blanket to pull the cover away from the fawn to get a better look at the baby fawn; Then Mrs. McKnight let a surprise gasped with a shock look on her face, but not too loud to wake the fawn up from her sleep, Mrs. McKnight glanced at the sleeping fawn, then to me, and back to the Sleeping Fawn with speechless from on her face. Mr. McKnight couldn’t believe what he was seeing and yet it’s right in front of his eyes, being held, sleeping peacefully, dreaming away, into KC’s arms.    “oh KC, you found a baby Fawn, but what happened with its mother, she’s probably worried about it by now.” Mrs. McKnight asked with worried. “Her mother was killed from starvation and thirst while she was trapped from a grizzle bear trap, there was nothing I could do for her, except promised her that I would find someone who could take care of her baby till her baby is old enough to be back into the wild and be free. I’m calling her Cel Mic.” I informed Mrs. McKnight calming her down as much as I could, while telling her only half-truth, and half lie.           “oh, that sounds a lovely name, what does it mean KC, and what language was it from?” Mrs. McKnight replied with wonder while still glancing at the sleeping Fawn. “Cel Mic means Little one from in Romania Mrs. McKnight.” I replied while informing her with interesting smile. “May I?” Mrs. McKnight asked while holding her arms out to the baby fawn; I nodded with a smile to her, then slowly set the fawn into Mrs. McKnight’s arms. Mrs. McKnight folded her arms around Cel Mic (rocking her a little bite, but not enough to wake her) while smiling down to the Fawn, showing so much glee with happiness and wonder in her eyes, it made my heart turn over; basically, it’s been a long while since Mrs. McKnight held a baby, even if the baby happens to be a fawn. “so, I was hoping, you would do the honor by raising her, as if she’s part of your family, making sure nothing would happen to her, till it’s that time to set her free, so she could be with her own kind and I don’t to sound like it’s a burden to you really.” I asked this while Mrs. McKnight slowly walked back to the couch to sit back down. Christoff decided to slowly walk up to his mother to see the little fawn, then gave his mother an approving smile.           “we would be honored KC, and we would never think of it as a burden, we would raise her as she was indeed part of our family until the time does come for the fawn to be free and to back into the wild where she belongs, unless something else changes first.” Mr. McKnight said, and it helped making me feel more relax that this family would indeed take care of the fawn, even more, now I just hope Cel Mic would stay and not want to come with me like Tom had said. “Thank you, Mr. McKnight, I would really appreciate it. really.” Yeah, I definitely could feel the weight coming off from my shoulders.           Few more hours later, everyone went to bed, except for myself, I got to be ready for anything, including a certain little Fawn, if I had to feed her again, but hoping she’ll sleep all night till Morning came, right now she’s sleeping on a big dog bed, which looks more like a big pillow than a bed to me. oh well. I even made sure to unwrap the blanket from around her legs whenever she moves while she’s still a sleep.           Since everything was looking ok, I decided to take a nap or get some sleep after all. It really does seem like Catherine’s enemies wouldn’t be coming tonight, but just to be save, I’ll make sure to be prepared and alert, encase if they did show up.           When Morning came around everything was still sounding peaceful when I woke up that Sunday sunshine raze, which was hitting on my face, I glanced to the alarm clock to see what time it was; seven-thirty-five am it showed, well nothing had happened, but just in case, I might as well see if they’re still in one piece and alive.           Going up the stairs to the second floor heading towards to Christoff’s bedroom. with my super hearing, I could hear his heart thumping calmly telling me he’s still sleeping, it’s the same thing with his parents, but just to be safe than sorry, I slowly opened their doors and peeked to their rooms, then walked in to really check on both of them (one at a time of course, since I’m still at Christoff’s room), yup Christoff was still sleeping, dreaming what any little children would be dreaming, I usually leave them alone, I don’t want to disturbed them dreaming, I slowly walked back to the hallway, then closed his door.           Then headed to the master bedroom to check on Mr. and Mrs. McKnight. both were fine and sleeping peacefully, with Mr. McKnight holding Mrs. McKnight protectively in his arms, well now that’s done; I’ll just head back to the living room and wait until they get up, slowly walking back out of the master bedroom, while closing the door, walked through the hallway, then went down stairs heading to the couch to sit down and kept a look out (by listening everything’s been going on while at the same time wait for the family to wake up). An Hour later, Christoff came running down the stairs like a herd of elephant in a stampede. hmm usually he wakes up around nine with Mr. and Mrs. McKnight. “wow, Christoff you’re up early, is anything the matter?” I asked him with disbelieve and wonder. “no, nothing wrong KC, but I was hoping you could make me that breakfast sandwich again. Please.” Christoff asked me though it did sound like begging. sighed of giving up. “Oh, no. not that puppy dog eyes, anything, but the puppy dog eyes. Please.” I even added a pretend begging of my own with my hands together like I was praying, then I laughed from my own silliness. “alright you little beg devil, I’ll go into the kitchen and make it, but on one Condition.” I informed him. “What?” Christoff asked me happily. Liking to help KC out with something that she might want him to do for her while she makes his breakfast. “that you warned me once Cel Mic is up, that way I’ll get her bottle of deer milk ready for her. promise.” I asked him while being proud of him for wanting to help me. “Yeah. can I feed her too? please.” Christoff asked with excitement. Chuckling to him when he’s jumping up and down. “sure. that is if she’s wakes up first before I finish making your breakfast.” I replied to Christoff. “thanks KC. and I promise to tell you when she wakes up.” Christoff said with glee on his face and even showing from in his eyes. “I know you will, but don’t wake her, let her do that by herself.” I warmed calmly to him.           After Christoff nodded to me in agreement, I went to the kitchen to get all the ingredients I needed to make breakfast. then later from at the middle of cooking the eggs and the sausage patty, both Mr. and Mrs. McKnight walked into the kitchen. “wow, something sure smells good. what are you making KC?” Mr. McKnight asked in curiosity. “Oh, Mr. and Mrs. McKnight, I didn’t mean to wake you.” I said in apology again since last time I accidentally woke up Mrs. McKnight and their son before from my laugh. “that’s quite alright KC, now please tell us, what are you making for breakfast.” Mrs. McKnight asked, who was also curios. “I’m making an egg, sausage, ham, cheese sandwich for Christoff.” I replied to them. Showing them my efforts of helping them. “mm, that sounds good KC.” Mrs. McKnight said cheerfully with a smile. “mm, yes, I agree with my wife KC, that does sound really good.” Mr. McKnight said in agreement with Mrs. McKnight.           So, I cooked two more sausage patties into the pan and two more eggs into the other pan. While I was making, and putting their breakfast meal together for them from on their own plates. “KC, She’s up!, She’s up!.” Christoff informed me shouting with a cheerfully smile when he came into the kitchen.           I smiled, then said the incantation to bring the bottle to appear and brought the bottle and their breakfast out to them (without dropping the food on to the floor, of course).           Cel Mic didn’t know where she was till she saw me, then tried to get up to come to me, but couldn’t, so she lay back down to wait for me to come to her, while her little ringtail was wagging a little bit. “I’m a coming Cel Mic, I’m a coming, hold on baby girl.” I said to her while I brought out my voice to her, so she would calm down from her excitement of seeing me, I don’t want her to fracture or sprained her little legs.           Since the way how small her hoofs and legs were and the dog pillow bed she’s on, anything could go wrong, just by one step. (Cel Mic calling out to KC) “I’m a coming Cel Mic, just hold on baby girl, I’m a coming.” I replied while calling out to her smiling, I do have to say, they do sound cute.           I went up to the dining table where Mr. and Mrs. McKnight were and give them their breakfast, then gave Christoff his; and that was where I notice Christoff wasn’t happy about something, I figured it out few seconds later of what that was for him to be unhappy. Smiling while shacking my head I put the bottle on the table for a minute or two then looked down to Christoff and thought up a great idea that might or would cheer him up. “tell you what (I waited till Christoff glanced up at me, then I smiled down to him) once you finish with your breakfast; you can still feed her, but I don’t want you eating too fast where you’ll choke. I’ll feed her half of the bottle, then you could feed her the other half of it; and I’ll to hear it from your parents to make really sure that you really did finished your breakfast without going too fast. Deal.” I offered him, hey I don’t want to disappoint the little man, but I also don’t want him to choke on his food either.           Christoff turned his upset frown into a great big smile, then nodded. I took the bottle with me to the living room, set it on the coffee table for a moment, the picked up Cel Mic with the Blanket, sat on the couch, putting her on my lap, grabbed the bottle and brought it up to her, and fed her.           Mrs. McKnight got up from the dining table to get all three of them two glass and a cup (the cup’s for Christoff) of milk, I gave Mrs. McKnight an apology look expression, I thought she would be upset that I had forgot, but she only gave me a forgivable understanding look instead, I was relief with gladness of being forgiven. Christoff finished both his breakfast and cop of Milk, put his dishes in the sink, then ran out of the kitchen to head to the Living room, so he could feed the fawn. Then Christoff slowly walked up to me as I was still feeding her. “ah, ah, ah. did you really finished your breakfast without going too fast, or choke from your food?” I replied when I confronted him; Christoff putted his little hands behind his back, smiled with a nod, but I had to double check, so I glanced up at his parents hope they would give me the answer I needed. both Mr. and Mrs. McKnight smile to me, and that’s all I needed to know, so I smiled to Christoff for job well done. “OK. walk slowly towards me so not to frighten her, then take a seat next to me on the couch. (Christoff did as instructed, while his parents walked out of the dining room to watch their son feeding the fawn for his first time) now put your left hand on the bottle, and make sure you had the bottle tilted up, so she won’t drink the air bubbles from inside the bottle there you go.” I’m glad I helped him out on how to feed her, I could tell both Mr. and Mrs. McKnight were very proud of their son.           Later that day while Mrs. McKnight was cleaning the dishes and the pan for me, though I did try telling her that I could do the work, since I was the one who made breakfast for them, but she refused the offer and said that she’ll do the cleaning for me while I was helping Christoff feed Cel Mic; Mr. McKnight had informed me they were thinking of going to the California state fair instead of going to the movies, and wanted me to come, even was OK for bring Cel Mic since she would be needing to feed again in another few hours, so I agreed to go with them.           Then while they were getting ready, I took Cel Mic to the back and into the woods so she could go to the bathroom (well in her own way that is) Mrs. McKnight was waiting for me and Cel Mic from her backyard, I smiled to Cel Mic, then tapped my leg, and she followed me out of the woods, then after few feet away from the woods, Cel Mic decided to jump around while playing around Mrs. McKnight yard, I giggled to the silly fawn, especially Mrs. McKnight, who was thinking the same thing, we walked to the their car; which happened to be one of the most expensive type of a car I have had ever seen, I didn’t want to say anything where I’ll live to regret it, as we were close to the car, I picked up Cel Mic, then climbed in the back with Christoff, then closed the door and put my seat belt on, after that was done I held on to Cel Mic so she wouldn’t fall off of my lap.           Christoff was glancing at Cel Mic from the whole ride there, then to my delighted surprise, he slowly put his hand out to let her sniff his hand, to let her see if he’s friendly or not to her, then slowly again to put his hand on the side of her neck and tried to pet her; for a moment there, I thought she would get scared but was being a good girl and let him. that got Christoff really happy.           An hour and a half later, we were at the fair, which happened to be my very first, no joke about it, Mr. and Mrs. McKnight were shockingly surprise when I told them this was my first time going to a State fair; few minutes later, Mr. McKnight found a parking spot, when we came to a stop, we all got out of the car, I grabbed out the dog lace and leash, then put the lace on her, then making sure the lace was comfortable for her. “so, you wouldn’t get lost. OK.” I informed her.           Cel Mic seems to like it after that, I helped her out of the car, the closed the door; then all of us walked straight to the fair, the ticket booth people didn’t minded for the fawn to go in, as long as she stays on the Leash, which I had to agree with them, I wouldn’t want the poor girl to get lost, scared, or even get trampled from every foot that might walking down on her little hoofs,  though I’m sure everyone would just stop what they were doing to take pictures of her instead.           As we walked into the fairgrounds everyone had stopped what they were doing (except for all the people who were riding on the rides) to stare at something with shockingly disbelieve on their faces even made a circle around me and the McKnight family, I didn’t know why they were staring at me for, till a young med twenties to early thirties woman with a medium brown hair, wearing a sundress on, and flip flops, with laces’ around her ankle, and had blue eyes was being pulled towards me by a little girl, who my guest happens to be her daughter, just by the same fetchers as the woman; the little girl looked to be three or four-years-old.           “mamma, mamma, look, the mooman case a mebe near.” The little girl said with glee. -so that’s what these people were staring at-. I complied to myself from in my head; the little girl didn’t know how to say her W’s, H’s, B’s, and Y’s, or D’s for Woman, has, baby, Deer; cute for a toddler like her.           “Yes, Cara, I could see that baby.” The woman conformed her little one; then said to me. “I’m sorry, but my daughter was wondering if she could pet the baby fawn, that is if it’s alright with you miss.” then the woman asked; “what’s its name?”           “Cel Mic, it means Little one in Romania, and of course she could, but your daughter has to do it slowly when she comes up to Cel Mic so she won’t scare her.” I assured the little girl’s mother, as I bend down to the little girls’ level with a warm friendly smile on my face.           “come on Cel Mic, come here, you’re alright, I’m here. (I said to the fawn, the fawn slowly walked up from beside me to get in front of me, close to my legs) That’s a good girl.” I said to her being a proud protector; I helped instructing the little girl so she would know what to do, and she did exactly as I asked her to do, all the way where she got to pet the fawn, I petted Cel Mic from on her left side of her back to insure her that I’m right here, and that it’s OK.           The little girl smiled up to me, then slowly walked back to her mother, looking back to me and waved good-bye, then headed out; after that the crowd went back being busy, except walking around me, the fawn, and the McKnight’s so they wouldn’t hurt Cel Mic. Now. after we got off the Merry-Go-Round, Mr. McKnight went to one of the food stands to buy them something to eat and drink, he did ask me if I needed anything, but I told him I wasn’t hungry which was in fact the truth, but Mr. McKnight insisted, so I said to him ‘if they had any fruit punch, then I’ll take it, but if not then it’s fine’.           Later while the rest of us were sitting on a bench waiting for Mr. McKnight to be back with the food and drinks, Mrs. McKnight asked me if she could have a turn to feed the fawn, I gave Mrs. McKnight the bottle, but it’s up to Cel Mic if she wants to go to Mrs. McKnight or not, one way to find out.           “here Little one, are you hungry, I really would love to feed you, won’t you come to me and let me.” Mrs. McKnight asked to the Fawn.           Cel Mic didn’t know what to do with the new stranger in front of her, she even looked nerves, then took a glanced to me. I smiled down to her and gave her a nod. “it’s up to you Cel Mic, I’m not forcing you, but she really would like to help feed you, if you let her, why don’t you give her a try, just to see how it would turn out, heck baby girl; you might even like her.” I insisted informing the little fawn, who soon waged her little tail that told me, she would give Mrs. McKnight a try, then slowly walked up to Mrs. McKnight.           Mrs. McKnight did the same thing from what her son did in the car, brought out her hand so Cel Mic could sniff her hand, then Mrs. McKnight brought the bottle to the fawn’s lips, the fawn tilted her head up and started eating, Mrs. McKnight smiled with excitement with tears coming down from her eyes, Cel Mic even leaded Mrs. McKnight pet her when Mrs. McKnight putted her hand on the fawn’s neck on the right side.           Then Mrs. McKnight started giggling at the same time her happy tears went down from her cheeks, few people turned their heads to us and got to see the fawn being fed by a happy crying woman; I smiled to both Mrs. McKnight and was very proud of Cel Mic.                                          “You’re feeding her mamma, you’re finally feeding her.” Christoff said being proud to his mother, he even went slowly up to his mother to giving her a proud hug. “thank you Christoff for the hug baby, and I just want to let you know sweetie, that your father and I were and still are so proud of you, for everything you’ve did for KC. listening to everything she had to say with you, so you could feed Little one, letting Little one smell your hand just to see if she would like you or not, we are very, very proud of you baby, I love you so much for that, and so much more.” Mrs. McKnight informed Christoff, putting her left arm around her son’s waist and hugged him while feeding the fawn at the same time. “Thanks mamma, I’m proud to be your son both you and daddy.” Christoff told her while still hugging her. “oh, my baby boy.” Mrs. McKnight cried out to her son, happy with more tears coming down from her face, with so much love she’s giving to her only son. “now, you better seat back down to your spot on this bench, your father would be back any minute with our lunches and drinks.” Mrs. McKnight informed Christoff then kissed his little forehead. Christoff did as he was asked from his mother and waited for his father while still watching his mother feeding Cel Mic.
