That was the first question the Luna was expected to answer. How does one answer such a question? It is not as if the Moon Goddess explains to the wolves why she pairs them with whomever they are paired with, neither does she take permission from individual wolves to pair them with a specific person; a wolf or human or any creature. As a wolf herself, the Luna had never had the thought of why she was paired with Grey's father or, like in this case, why Grey is paired to Ari. All she has ever known in her existence is, the Moon Goddess pairs each wolf with another wolf or human who is seen as half of the intended partner and as a couple they become whole.
