Chapter 3: Knit Through the Back LoopRalph came home just as Simon was done cleaning and was starting on dinner. He was wearing the scarf Simon had made for him years ago—his first finished project ever. He had knitted much more impressive garments and accessories since then, but somehow Ralph hung on to that scarf as if his heart was stitched into it. It made Simon feel warm inside, and happy, because without having to read complex facial expressions or body language, Ralph was showing him how much he loved him by little things like that. Little declarations of his devotion that Simon was able to decipher easily.
