Onyx dropped herself heavily on her sofa. She just got back from work. She met Tanya preparing for school.
"Morning sis, how was work?"Tanya asked.
"As usual, she even reduced my pay"Onyx replied.
"Sis,you have to resign. You're killing yourself"
"Yunno I have to take care of you and mum..."
"What about yourself,huh? You don't even have time for yourself. You only have a few clothes,a pair of shoes,three bras and..."
"I know you counted my panties too"
"Sis, you really need to upgrade yourself. Even your phone's broken. I don't..."
"I've heard you. I'll freshen up and go and resign"
"I'll ask my friends for any job opportunity. They'll know one or two"
"Bye, get going baby"
"Love you sis"Tanya said and left.
Onyx dragged herself to her room. She began undressing.
"Gosh, look at me! I don't even have deodorants or body sprays. I'm gonna find a new job with a higher pay. Maybe as a stripper? No"She said grumpily and proceeded to bath.

"Sis, wake up, wake up"Tanya gushed excitedly, tickling Onyx.
"Uggh... what's it?"Onyx said sleepily, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"First, did you resign?"
"Of course, good riddance"
"Okay. Well, have this"She said giving Onyx a printed paper.
Onyx scanned it for a while before looking up at Tanya.
"And so?"She asked.
"C'mon sis,look at the pay. Two hundred thousand. It will change our lives forever"Tanya squealed.
"You expect me to become a maid to a crippled guy? Not happening"
"This is Madden Wills yunno"
"Of course I know, but you know how he chased maids each time"
"Cus they fall for him. I know you sis, you won't fall for him, so go for the interview"
"With my appearance?I won't be chosen"
"You will. Just dress up and get going"
"I'm not taking the offer. So let me be"
"Pleassee"
"Taking care of a guy old enough to take care of himself?"
"But you also take care of mum. And you want to help mum and I, so please take the offer"
"Okay fine. But if I'm stressed a lot, I'll resign"
"Fine. Now go, interview's ongoing"

Onyx sat down among the numerous girls, some dressing in exposing outfits. She looked at herself and then at the girls.
"F**k... I shouldn't have come. They're obviously prettier than me"She muttered, biting her nails to ease her nervousness.
Soon, she was called and she went in. She met a handsome young man in black suit.
"Good afternoon Miss Onyx"He said. "I'm Lucian, Mr Madden's PA"He said.
"Nice meeting you"She calmly said.
"I hope you read his book of rules while waiting"
"Of course, and I can possibly adhere to them. Who even wants to fall in love with a crippled human"She said before realizing.
"What did you say?"
"I meant..."
"I can't try to employ you. You can obviously poison my boss and his safety is my first priority. Go away please "
"To hell with you and your stupid boss "She yelled, getting up to go.
"Lucian,employ her"Madden's voice came through the speakers in the office.
He was watching them from home on his laptop.
"But Sir..."Lucian tried saying.
"Now do as I say. Give her my address and tell her to begin work tomorrow "He said and Onyx's face was a definition of shock.
"You heard him,here, have his address. Begin work tomorrow at 8 am. Be very careful with my boss. Anything happens to him and I'll kill you with my bare hands"
Onyx nodded,too stunned to speak. Her mind went places. She's Madden's...like she's Madden Wills' maid? Well, she'll see how it goes.
She began walking out, and Tanya, her mom and Cyrielle were over the moon when they heard the news.
