I followed Lilly’s line of sight and my eyes landed on my brother, Declan. My own eyes went wide when I realized what this meant. Lilly is my brother's mate. No wonder I had this strong urge to protect her. She’s going to be my sister-in-law.
I heard a possessive growl leave Declan’s chest before the word left his lips.
“Mate!”
He stalked toward Lilly and stopped directly in front of her. His eyes trailed down her face and stopped on her lips. Another growl left his chest when he noticed the cut.
