Quarante Quatre

I am in a lost state with all the messages I received from that night—it does hold a different meaning to me. I'll be lying if I said I am not frightened at all. the funny thing is that I am in sitting on the fence about whether I believe it magical and go into depth into every wording that they write and send to me or just ignore the shits, and continue my life and insisted that it might be someone who does the message pranks It's Saturday morning, the clouds littered in the sky, as I get in the morning I went on my routine. Weekends are all ways been different for me but I decided to adapt the nature so that I can stay on their pace. Weekends mean still busy days. Meanwhile, I texted Dem again regarding his father and her family’s condition. Dem left the apartment without me noticing it, I bet she left early as the sun will be rising afterward. “January!” Aunt Melinda yelled, coming from her room. I looked at her and asked, “What is it, aunt?” and just then Cosette craned her neck to glance at her mom. She is looking for some movies we can watch and chill, as always because it's Saturday. “Your mom and dad will pay you a visit by the time they can finish everything,” she said. “Wait my father happened to arrive?” I asked too surprised that he is back from where he is, Italy, I guess. “You didn’t know?” I shake my head. “I bet you didn’t open any of the messages on your phone,” she guessed. “Right!” “You’re incredible at how can you take off your hand on your phone." I guessed she complimented me. She sighed as she told me that her daughter can’t relate as she is overall the phone. Well, what I can say, little did she knows that I’ve never really watched my phone as I never really have someone or friends to chat with or something. I have barely watched any YouTube videos in some time now. “Mom! Don’t embarrass me!” Cosette whined to her, putting down the remote. “What should I do then?” “Well, you asked that so I want to thank you for giving me an idea,” her mom sarcastically said. Cosette rolled her eyes at her. “Why don’t you go outskirts or in the downtown, you choose.” I muffled a laugh as she felt ambivalence about her mom’s question, but then I looked at her for a minute because she is still on her spot. What is hard about choosing between the two places, if it’s not for being lazy, I don’t know what is it then. “Mom! Fine!” I glanced at her. Did she finally choose? “Alright!” her mom nodded. “Go and get dressed and get Aryn to be with you!” “I’m alright!” “Are you serious?” she asked giving me a “are you kidding?” look. I gestured why not. “What?” “Seriously?” “Oh god fine!” I surrender. She might throw tantrums but guess what let me seize the moment. Maybe because I can’t enjoy it anymore. I need to be moving on with my plan and guess what I saw in my notebook about Diana and Haze Martin. I didn’t know that they are like those…rich-rich people, living in some beautiful mansion. I went to the room to change as we will be going to get a party-peeps in the middle of the winter. Wait…a damn minute… Surely, I'm not that dumb to ask if there are grasses, flowers, and trees on the outskirts of Paris. Maybe they do have it's just that it was still covered with the snow and frozen in the vast landI am wanting to go there but well season happened so downtown will be the better choice at this kind of time. We might never know that we can get warmth as there a bunch of people may roam around. “Oh s**t!” she exclaimed as she went in my door. “What is it C?” I am officially giving her a letter as a nickname. I am tired of her 2 ass syllable word. “C?? “Why? What’s wrong with that?” She shook her head. “By the way, what are you wearing?” “Uh...Yes!...Well, that’s why I am here,” “You think we are in the fcking summer?” “I know! but I just bought this crop top and this denim pants!" she pouted. it's not my fault that she bought that at the wrong time. what a waste of money. “You must be wearing three layers or two, or some ugly sweaters made from cashmere," I commented. "Whatever! just change so that we can off to go." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The time comes and we are finally in downtown the City. I didn’t know that even in the middle of winter there are 'that' many people, walking and doing their stuff in the midst of it. Wearing "our" thick jackets, layered clothes below them and our scarfs, and all other winter accessories. I persuade her to get some layered clothing this time as I am afraid that she might get hypothermia. As am I over-acting here, it's much better than I'll be letting her walk outside with those attenuated clothes. We are walking, roaming our eyes on every establishment downtown and I remembered there's something I want to do since...I was a kid. “Is there something like an arcade here?” I asked I didn’t have time to experience it. it’s funny and I look indeed an old-fashioned girl, I do even have a little, a very little notebook. A to-do list of my own is one of my main things to be organized but I just leave it and used it for fun things if I ever step my foot in the City. “Let’s run!” she yelled as she takes off. “I can’t—wait!” I yelled back and ran. I am not a runner in this kind of place because I am afraid that I can bump—and I bumped. “I’m sorry sir—” I said but I was cut as I saw the man’s face. whoa! Sparkling gold like a light all around him some angelic background music that we can hear and see on some cliché romance movie or books, apparently appeared as I faced him, slowly. My world stopped, my heartbeat start to beat faster, but then it was a quick show to me as I realized that I'll be making myself a show and embarrassing myself in the whole world. I don't want to be discovered like this, though, so then as I am about to leave the scene, he spoke. “Hey, miss? Are you alright?” he asked.
