“Aryn! Let’s go?” my aunt asked as I check my things. Never felt a lot of nervousness inside me and makes me sick. This is a new feeling for me even though I went on many competitions and all. This new chapter to my life is fresh and I never experienced before. I’ll be going on by myself this time and not with my block mates. I want to try new things and here I am shivering and shaking from the thought. I feel mixed feeling about this.
I slept earlier than I expected because they told me I need sleep and my call is 9:00 am and I woke up pretty early like 6:00 am. the sun was still on the other side. France sunrise is late that’s why I can’t wake up early than Dem does back then.
Misses the old times but I need to put it behind as I continue my journey. I don’t know if Dem will be back immediately or not. I want to tell all the stories when she comeback here.
“Are you nervous?” Aunt Melinda asked.
“Yeah!” I said as I puff out a sound. I can’t help it, though. I hope she understand what I am feeling.
“Cosette will not come?”
She sighed and replied, “No. that lady is super hard to wake up.”
I chuckled and said, “Same as me,”
“But she is above you,” she said and I pretty get what she is saying so I nodded my head—agreeing to her.
“First day on a job is very nerve-wracking for me but don’t worry as long it will go smooth and stay there for a meantime and also get along with your colleagues will be so much fine,”
“Thanks for that auntie!” I thanked her with her comforting words that make me ease. Yes, she is not wrong—because it is my first time and when I step foot on the company and meet my new co-worker I will definitely be able to adapt the environment and the attitudes and I’ll be able to breath.
“Are you ready?” she asked as she kept looking at the time. I indeed told her the time so that we will be on time and aware of the time.
“Don’t worry about the time, Aryn!” she said. “We will be on time or even earlier than the said time. Cars are minimal this time.”
“Oh! I’m glad!” I said. I think I am overacting this whole moment. I am such a dramatic ass woman. As I realized what I am doing this past few hours—we are now walking on the parking lot. Once again I am making my aunt my chauffer.
“Seatbelt, please!” she reminds me. I looked at her admiring from the side. She is thoughtful and such a sweet auntie I have. I am grateful to have her in my life. I smiled as I seek motivation from that. If I will do good on this, I will be able to repay her in no time.
After some good minutes we arrived at the company. She dropped me off across the company’s building. I bid her goodbye and fix my smart, casual and not too professional clothes. I haven’t received or will be receiving my office uniform as I am not a regular one nor in the next level.
“You can do it!” I cheered myself up. I walked towards the company as I saw the traffic lights for pedestrian went green.
From a far I saw also people that I guessed passed the internship interview and hired. I went on them to maybe make some new friends. This time I will also use the quality over quantity. It’s all right to make some fewer friends that you know they will be there to you and vice versa than having a bunch of friends who are likely not be there when you need them but they will get mad when you are not there for them and just using you.
I learned my lessons for this past years I am living. It’s funny that my friends are countable—the perks also are that they are very aesthetically pleasing in the contacts. Just kidding! But yeah it’s much better. And this time it will be my work circle of friends. I can’t wait!
“Hello!” someone said beside me. She is taller than me, petite and pretty.
“uh-Hi!” I awkwardly greeted her back. I am stunned that someone made the first move to me.
“I’m Christine, pleasure to meet you!”
“Likewise, I am January or you can call me Aryn!” I replied.
“Oh! Then you can call me Tine!” she told me while genuinely smiling.
“I bet you are new also,” she said and I nodded. “Same as me!”
“We arrived too early!” I said chuckled a bit.
She giggled and said, “Yes we do! It feels old times, where I always on time on school and get lazy afterwards!”
“LOL! That’s fun for you! Unfortunately, I have some strict parents,”
“Aww! Poor Aryn!” she pities me. She might not feel what I really feel but maybe she saw it with other people she met. I chuckled faintly as I don’t want it to be awkward to us.
“Did you eat breakfast?” I changed the topic.
“Well, of course!” she answered.
After an hour, the company was opened for all the staffs. The staff who is assigned to tour the new comers is dressed well and went up on us. We are actually 5 persons so basically it’s easier for her and for us to communicate well.
After we tour our level where we will be staying most of our time in the company. She also gave us a infographic papers and pamphlets for the other features of the building. So that if ever we were called to go to that specific place we can go there smoothly without making trouble from the other people. The staffs are well trained and they now what they are doing. It’s a bit intense in the room but the team leader went in.
“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen’s, I am your team leader Adrian Lambert,” he introduced himself. “So today we will be having some get to know and introductions here and there. Treat this day as a mini team building day.”
We all clapped and he continued, “So the purpose of the company why they hired many screen writer is there will be a project and suggested that this will be big.”
“Are we on a team?” some guy asked.
“Yes, we are. I am hoping for your cooperation,” he responded.
“We will be called the neo age scripters. We will be having a team work here as you all go and learn more about this new technique to build amazing film,” he said. “Did you understand that?”
“Yes, sir!”
Mr. Lambert continued until we are all given a time to introduced with each other. The atmosphere in the new environment gave me something that I never felt. It’s neither anxiety nor nerve-wrecking, its genuine and lively. I really do hope that this will go smoother in many days.
