“Alright! Here drink this!” her mom said as she gave her out a glass of water before she choked on more. I shake my head on how mean she gestured me to shut up. I don’t know if she really that crazy for a fan, and remember that Tristan is just a starting actor but his impact is really that powerful, that even my cousin knows him, well, he is a star from the place she grew up. I think Aunty is really against Cosette having a boyfriend right now because she didn’t even get to explore things.
My aunty is a woman with so much knowledge about life and I think she wants her daughter to be successful and not be like her. Our family is not that wealthy and my parents alongside my mother work in an early age and also married with in the same time.
My aunt was a cooked in cafeterias and other diner. She is not a regular cook because half of those restaurant closed and was left for her is to apply to other restaurant until she was pregnant and forced to live as a housewife. There is nothing to be house wife and because of that she takes care and loves so much her one and only daughter Cosette. I know that she is very proud of her because of that she is now a graduate student who have a degree in her hand.
This is a different situation as what I can see. I think Cosette is having hard time and her laziness is eating her up. So, I planned to help her out whenever I have I chance to do so because I think it will be a great way to pay up little things that they did to me.
I have no money as of now so I’ll be repaying their kindness from my knowledge and if I get a money I will also help them with the expenses. I think I would love to live here for more than a month and postponed my plan to moved out. I sighed when I think of the plan that I didn’t still use and didn’t even do it. I need a right timing, I assured myself and it will go to my plan.
“So where are we?” Aunt asked. We both looked at each other but then I excused that I forgot what’s our topic so went through it and started a new conversation like there’s nothing happened earlier and Cosette was saved by herself also.
“Aryn!” she called me. “When is your friend coming back?” oh, shoot! Did I just forget Dem’s whereabouts? I looked on the different direction as I didn’t know what to answer.
“uh…you didn’t call her?” Her gaze shifts in to mine as she stops sipping her soup. Oh no! Please don’t make Auntie rage! That’s the last thing I want to see on her.
I put down my utensils as my I start to fidget my fingers but then answered her. “Well…Auntie, I’m just really busy but yeah! I will try to call her.” The few silence is intense and I baffled on how the atmosphere change drastically and start questioning myself did I go wrong for not really telling her about who is the guy they are talking about—did she sense the air of lies that surrounds us or what?
“Honestly…I don’t mind her sleeping in my house,” she stated and I nodded my head. I’m really grateful that she welcomes my friend Dem as she was being “kicked out” as what we defined in her hotel. I carefully looked at her and noticed how Cosette reacted on what she is seeing. “But then she needs to be aware that she should not be someone that will go back here from such a long time, and eat and sleep then go back. This is not a hotel, it’s a home.”
She fixed her gaze at me and see if I understand what she is talking about and I said. “Yes, auntie. I’ll let her know.” We finished eating the mains and we jumped to the dessert, and guess it’s ice cream. The Daron’s domicile can’t go wrong, we are actually really spoiled with the food and I learned that Auntie is a cook in the restaurant nearby but sadly it closed and she didn’t try to apply for another restaurant—even if it’s just a snack bar—but then it’s a good thing for the couple because she was pregnant that time. Cosette’s father is the only one to continue to work for them, to continue their lives and supporting their new angel in their family.
I get to my feet, “Thank you for the food! I’ll be…going to my room.”
Goodness gracious that was an epic dinner in my whole life. She is a strict parent to the both of us now and I kinda get her. I felt sorry for the both of them. I need to be able to contact Dem so that she will rest assured and be calm.
The end of conversation or even the whole is a bit out of ordinary as I remember. I breath in and out and went to my study table to get my works done. My work is something not easy to do in just a day or a month. As I flipping pages from pages from the handouts—I suddenly remembered on how we should take parts or divide the parts—so I did get my laptop, start it, and went immediately to my viber account and video call Tine. I sighed in relief as I saw her being online. What a great timing!
“Hello?” I started, waiting for her camera to open. I am excited this will be my first time having a video call. I know I am little bit old-fashioned but that’s me anyways and I think I will surely be able to change that because I will be surely influenced by them, mostly Christine.
As the camera turns on, she spoke. “Hello! What’s up Aryn?”
“Well…I want to ask if do we have parts to focus on when writing the movie?” I began asking what is really my intent. She paused as she is thinking deeply.
“Did they discussed about that?” she answered me with a question, too. “because it will a bit unfair if we didn’t have a system about this one.”
“I know right!” I agreed at her. It will look like as if we are having a competition but in the end there will be only one to passed the evaluation for the script in the film. If you can’t make it then all the work you did will be gone and will never shine and maybe some will just do it badly on purpose because they will still get the salary from the company or else.
“Argh! What to do?” I frustatedly asked about the situation we are in. I ponder why it didn’t across in my mind that situation.
I heard bustling in her part and she came back and said. “I will try to reach them out, like, right now. Wish me luck!” and from that she is gone. I hope that this will be solved today or else it will overlap a day without doing anything and that sucks! For me.
I waited for her and the meantime I just open my draft notebook, and stared at the title and reading the plot also to work my mind into something you called “Idea”. I also browse some film, a coming-of age film for references and inspiration.
The idea and the plot is so good and I don’t know if there are movies out there that has a bit similarity on what we will create—but then before I forgot as I wait—I did sent Dem a message, a lot of it, so she will notice it faster if ever she opens it and hoping that she is doing good with her family.
A familiar tone coming from my laptop is ringing and I accepted the group video call, I am surprised on how she gets them on line that fast.
“Sorry, for the inconvenience I caused,” I started with an apology as I know it’s not in our working hours but I really want to know, and also let them know about it, somehow.
“No worries, January! I also want to apologize as I forgot to mention about this matter,” Mrs. Julia said. “But we are here so let’s go on. So, we can spend time more.” We nodded.
We all get some sheet of paper for taking notes from this impromptu meeting, in the middle of the night.
