So that’s the story of my mother and father’s backstory. She left the story untold on the part how did my father died and what is the cause of it. I never tried to get deep into that because she, herself, doesn’t know too. She was just informed that he died in that evening and the rain poured heavily that night.
It sad that I never met my father and I don’t think he even knows me nor he will ever know my existence when he, himself doesn’t exist in our world anymore. Mom was doing grate and she is one of the Head Architect of one of my grandfather’s corporation. We are doing great and we moved at into a decent home when mom got her salary that are enough to buy a new home for the two of us. When I entered the university, I get the opportunity to leave on my own but mom said she can’t pay all the bills for my college tuition fee if I will be starting to leave on my own—that’s when my grandfather takes over the bills of my condominiums rent and as I started acting and all I got myself my very own penthouse.
“Tristan! Are you here with us?” I hold my ears when my manager just shouted so close in my ears. I believe that I’ve been zoning out for more than a minute.
“Y-yes?” I stuttered. Oh, please! Don’t ask me what they discussed. We are in the lounge and the room where I can get my make-up on and styled my hair and put on some clothes my stylist gave. I looked at the mirror in front of me and noticed that I have all what I need to do.
He sighed and walked behind me and said. “I think you are too stressed.” He patted my back and added. “What in the world did that old man gave to you this time?” He knows what I am dealing with my family right now. Eugene is my close person and very loyal to me although he is greedy in money.
“Nothing big happened,” I said. Just making a way for the two to meet and I think they meet not long ago but that’s is like a half percent of what my grandfather wants. “I think I am really stressed this day and of course the premiere is coming next week and busy with interviews.” I assented tiredly.
He nodded and went back to his seat. I scrolled down my social medias and I can see that the poster is up on the internet now. There are so many notifications and all of them are from the company because as you know the company decided to divide their staffs and artists to make a one team, one movie, drama or series or even Cinerama. I was assigned in the Division 2 and there’s nothing more special than Division 1 for me but at least I can seat and chill while I watch them behind.
They just texted me because I can’t come to the meeting and there goes the packing of my things are also given to my other staffs that are working for me. I know there is no royalty here but what I can do when the head or the chief is my mother’s close friend back in her college days, Ms. Shine Garnier. They treasured me because they know what my mother went through and the least they can do is to be there with us. She is always beside me and when she knew that I am auditioning to be one of their actors and gladly know that she will be there to be the one who approves but also I work hard for it and here we are.
She is also the reason why I can make Aryn and Jace be with each other. I don’t know why my grandfather ordered me to put them in the one division. As what I can tell there are definitely a hidden messages and codes from the past that lies between the two. I neither can see it clearly nor understand it as a whole but I believe that the only one who can see it is my one and only grandfather. I don’t even know the behind story as for this I have nothing to do with it, I am just a mere person who obey the older generations order or in short I am just a servant or a path for them to walk on.
A knock interrupted us from what are we doing and thinking. My manager permitted to open the door—it was one of the staff that organizes our schedules and she is here to tell us that we can go now. I looked at the time and we have an hour to spare for the drive and a little retouch here and there. I am just given a black hoodie with a not so fitted pants because this is a little comfortable theme of interview which I like, there will be a live audience too.
We thanked her and went out the room we are in. I don’t have big bag or anything that I’ll be holding because it is on my manager and assistant. We are all in front of the elevator that is for the artist only and its personnel. Quite spacious and very bare in the back where we can enjoy the lasting view as we entered the elevator. About a second or a minute we arrived at the lower ground where the vans that are assigned to us to get to the studios are here.
They greeted us and I greeted them back and went in the van. The driver is also the driver that is assigned to take me where when we are in the shooting. All of them are like my older brothers and family, although I like to be closer to them I still distance myself. Gem, Eugene and Michael (the driver) are with me more than my mother.
Speaking of my mother, I forgot to visit her when I promised that I will visit her when I came back from my shoot. Well, there are many next time—she is busy so does I—that’s a fair and square thing to me. I opened my phone again, plugged my airbuds on and play some music because this will be a boring and long ride for me. I took this time to roam around my inbox and also text and say hello to Aryn. My last text is like a month ago or 3 weeks ago or a day ago, I forgot the time and what I know is that its long ago.
I want to know what she is doing and I heard from Gem, my assistant, that she fainted. I wonder why she fainted, there are so many reasons on why she fainted and some people make funny guesses out of other reasons to say. I also asked her what’s the reason so I can defend or stop those bunch of girl who can’t think straight or to act matured in their co-workers.
I know that they are not in the same division but the all have the same position and as a friend I’ll make sure not to let it spread and let it spread if it is needed in terms of contribution to my mission.

We are in the café that they been wanting me too see and taste their freshly made coffees from the freshly pick coffee beans. I wonder how they make the coffee beans fresh as it is, do they put some chemicals that can preserve them or just put in an air-tight container and they will be preserve on their own? Well, whatever it is I hope it will be the latter.
We all chose what to buy and honestly I am bit scared because they might let me be the one to pay all what they ordered. They ordered a lot, honestly, and I don’t know if they can eat all of this carbohydrates, or are we getting diabetes ourselves because of the amount of sweets they ordered.
The scene earlier as we walk in the pathway to here can’t be erased in my memory. I told and promised myself not to be embarrass, or put and make any situation an awkward one but here I am under a heavy, awkward atmosphere. It’s actually embarrassing than being awkward or as what I think they come together as one effect to your body and mind, and it can’t be helped.
“So! You are new in the company right, Ms. Ashton?” Alejandro said opening a conversation, maybe he sensed it or it’s just too quiet when we all know that café is a place where we can have some amazing conversation.
“You can call me Aryn,” she said. “Yes, I am actually new to the industry too.” She added emphasizing that she is also new to the line.
“Whoa! Really? So what’s your line then?” Tallia asked. They questioned her one by one and she can see it coming and she is ready to be “investigate”.
“Well, I don’t know if this is a line but I am a former figure skater,” she answered. They all shook by that and she let out a giggle because of their reactions.
Alejandro pointed her finger and motioned how he imagine a skater do. She nodded while laughing at what he does. He can’t believe it actually both of them. On the other hand, Jace seems so chill and looks like he is not interested when the truth is his ears are all in the conversation as well as his mind—Hani is actually searching in the internet by Aryn’s full name to see if she is saying is true.
Not so long when she sees the result and Aryn’s name is really in the list of former figure skater, their competition, records, wins and loses also with their pictures—a bunch of pictures from the press.
“I am surprised!” Hani exclaimed while she shows what she opened. Alejandro who is seated across her snatched her phone. The seat layout is like this, they are in the long and tall table a little bit in the center of the café. Jace is in the left of Alejandro and both of them facing the counter while the three girls are facing in front and can see the view outside the café—Tallia has no one across her seat, Aryn is in the middle facing Jace and Hani facing Alejandro in her right.
“Hey! Give me back my phone you bastard!” Hani said while reaching for her phone. She sent daggers at him with her eyes and Alejandro immediately gave it back to her. We all let out a chuckle when we know that Alejandro doesn’t want to deal with an angry woman and if its Hani because as I learn them and their hobbies in their autobiography—I learned that Hani learned taekwondo in her young age when she moved to South Korea because of her mother’s business and also she has some significant traits of being a Korean and that’s when I know her mother is one of them.
“Holy gracious! You are the Ice princess of the north?” Tallia exclaimed as she mentioned her given nickname from her fans. “That’s why you seem familiar when I met you.”
“Really?” she asked. She doesn’t know that people still recognized her a little, it is also saddening her when she reminisces those days and she hope she have written history with her name as she plays the elegant and graceful sport she ever did in her life.
“Hey, Jace! You’re not listening, are you?” Hani said. Jace looked at Aryn and all of them and asked. “What is it?”
“Here you go again! Did you know that Aryn is a figure skater!”
“I know…I mean yes I know because you guys are discussing right now, right?” he blabbered and plastering a laugh.
“Goodness! I think you really need a—” The alarm didn’t let Hani finished her talk when it alarms. “You are in need of coffee.” She finished and stand up to get the orders as well as Alejandro to help her.
They went back to the table immediately and distributed the orders. “Thanks for this!” Jace quickly said and get the coffee that was put in the table.
“Hey, man! That’s my coffee!” Alejandro said when he noticed that they exchanged coffees.
“Really? My bad!” he said and quickly change it again. He suddenly moved so odd and quick and that made our heads shook.
