“So, why do you decide to meet up?” I asked him while we are inside his car, going somewhere he knows that I don’t know. This will be my very first trip if he decided to tour me in the city.
“Well, I want to catch up with you!” he replied.
“Really? I see that you have vacant time,”
“Well, my manager is still waiting for a movie or a television series audition.” He explained and as I understand.
“Do you have in mind who do you want to work with?” I asked.
“You sound like an interviewer!” He chuckled.
“Aish! Just answered it, boy!”
“As of now? I felt like not working!”
“Why is that? Do actors procrastinate too?”
“I don’t know, but I called this a vacation!”
“What a fancy vacation when you’re just hanging out with a girl like me!” I commented. “Don’t you mind if one of your fans saw you with me? Or a nosy journalist?”
“I don’t mind but I mind you!” he said. How thoughtful of him, but at the same time will feel bad if I will see myself in an article published online. How crazy and messed up it will be if someone will take a picture of me with him and post it to any social media platform. Cons of having a celebrity male friend, a handsome and kind one. His fans! Oh, no!
“Did you eat breakfast?”
“Yes! How ‘bout you?”
“Just coffee!”
“wow! Coffee? When you know that breakfast is an important meal of the day!” I nagged.
“Whoa! Chill, mother!”
“WHAT?”
“You looked like my mother!” he gasped dramatically. I just gave him a nice glare. Note its sarcastically.
“Sorry!” he apologized immediately as he sensed my black energy surrounding my entirety. Just kidding! I just gave him a mild glare.
“Hays! A fun moment to start up my day!” he commented.
“Thanks!”
“No not you! My face!” he confidently said while he stares at the side mirror. The car was at a stop because of the traffic lights.
“The f**k are you saying?” I said as I gave him a sour look. He is handsome but…he is overly confident.
“You’re narcissistic!” I commented, and he stop touching his invisible beard who knows how long it is.
“At least, I love myself!”
“Nope you’re not loving it you’re overly obsessed and it’s disgusting!” I teased him, being friends with someone especially a new one I tend to fool around and piss them off until their patience reaches the top. A little weird and odd way to test one’s patience.
“How could you!” he cried dramatically over and over again.
“Well, let me tell you a story,” he said. “When my male cousin went in our house for vacation he complimented me. He said that I am the most handsome in my family.”
“How kind of him,”
“But then he said that day that I am the only one handsome in my family,” he continued. “It’s only for a day and I never heard him say that again!”
“It means that you changed for the worse!” I said. “You’re still handsome!”
“Yeah, I never said that I wasn’t,” he said. I was taken aback by the fact that he a something.
“You don’t deserve my compliment! Anything from me!” I said taking my words back as if I still can do it.
“How about your dad?” I asked and realized. “Then it means that he lost over you?”
“Oh! Take that as my pride!” he said. I faced palm myself, I didn’t notice it coming. I just gave him power. Oh, no! as the traffic seems to be moving an inch we bicker again on that topic and talked about random thoughts.
“So that’s it?”
“Yes, that’s only like a few!” we are talking about how many animal figurines he has when he was a child versus what he only has now.
“Are we eating?”
“Yes…” he was silent for a second and said, “How did you know?”
“Look at the side quickly! You’ll notice how restaurants were filed up back to back with each other.”
“I didn’t think about that! It should be a surprise!”
“That’s fine! Just surprised me with a portion of food that I never eat in my entire life and ecosystem!”
“What? HAHAHA! How ecosystem was connected without topic?”
“Just randomly thought!?”
“Wonderful mind you have there!”
“Thanks!” I said then we stopped talking for a while as Tristan was talking to the guard who gave him a ticket. Tristan wears black trousers along with a black cashmere sweater and with his brown suede shoes. He looks great with his sunglasses on and his watch on. On the other hand, I look like I just took whatever I spotted in my closet. Well, that’s me and I was lazy and thought that I might stay in my room, in my fluffy bed while taking some notes from a website on “How to be good in an interview” to prepare for my tomorrow’s interview.
I will not miss this chance to get to the top 1 company in the country, and also not miss a chance to ask my dear friend for some advice.
Tristan finally found the spot in the parking lot. We remove our seatbelts and went out of the vehicle. The breeze of the autumn wind slaps my face. It’s a bit windy because we are in an open area. Tristan called my name and I walked towards him. He leads the way to a pretty fancy, classic restaurant, it has a wealthy aura in here. I’m too nervous to enter my feet on their glamourous floor. I had this minute of appreciating how to clean them for is, I can see myself.
The place is another whole level. A huge chandelier in the middle with lights and crystals all around it and all the table has a mini version on top of every table.
“Reservation by Mr. Etienne,” the front lady said.
“Are you only in here sir?”
“No. I have a company,” the lady looks at Tristan like she was ready to devour him. I want to laugh at how the lady's stares make her more obvious. Tristan felt it and decided to…hold my hands?
“Just for a moment!” he whispered in my ears. I slowly nodded, a sudden nervousness and anxiety rose. Maybe, it’s because this is legit my first time holding someone’s hands in public and it’s a guy. The thing is he is a high-class citizen and we are in a public place. Someone might catch us or even recognized him. I’ll be dead if my mom finds out.
“Deep breath, Aryn!” he said. “I feel your pulse fast in my fingers.”
“Are you nervous or are you blushing?” he still makes jokes while I’m here suffering from all the thoughts inside my head.
“Here is your seat, Mr. and…Ms.” She even hesitantly said. How does she do that to her customers?
Tristan finally let go of my hand. I grab something that looks like a menu and starts browsing on the meals, appetizers, and beverages they have. All of it looks delicious but when I looked at the price I gulped my saliva at how expensive they are that you will just choose to sit still watching others to eat.
I put down the menu and just look outside. I noticed that we are near the Eifel tower and it can be viewed here. I took the chance and pulled out my phone to take a picture. I don’t even care what others will say to me but this is the chance for me to take and for them to care.
My evil mind wants me to go brag the view and the resto to my babe, Dem. Well, that side of me will never be used for the things like that. I opened my messages and send all the pictures I had taken from the view along with my selfie.
Dem is not seeing this immediately when reality hits me that she is in the conference as she mentioned earlier.
“Did you decide, Aryn?” Tristan asked.
“I honestly don’t know what to choose,” I shyly replied to him.
“Well, in that case, if you give me permission, you can order what I order, it’s that fine with you?” he asked and I granted him to make him decide it all.
“Waiter!” Tristan called and he was immediately noticed by one of them.
“Yes, sir! Can I get your order?”
“Can I have 2 orders of Chicken Cordon Bleu, One Potatoes Dauphinoise,” he began. “For appetizers, I will get a Lyonnaise salad, and beverages we kindly want to get peach juice and the 75. That’s all!”
“It will be served approximately 30-35 minutes.”
Wow! I can’t imagine how would those be at our table. The preparation is longer than I expected but what will you expect in the Grande Restaurant. Fortunately for me, I ate my breakfast but for Tristan he just had coffee but he seems alright with it. Waiting is too long, so I will now ask and say my lingering questions in my mind.
“So…we have some time to waste,” I started and he looked at me, confusedly and I continued.
“Well, I have these many questions in my head,” I said while portraying how many is my questions, I added. “Can you try answering it?”
“Sure, it’s not like it’s something to do with numbers.”
“Do you hate…math?”
“I just don’t like it,”
“It’s the same!” I pointed out.
“Whatever! So back to what are you saying?”
“I want to ask some questions,”
“Well, go on!”
“So what should I do when I face them tomorrow?”
“Simply, just practice your communications skills, dress nicely, tell them about yourself, research the industry and the position you want to take.”
As he started answering, I took some notes in my mind so I can use them later when I go back. Those seem pretty simple but hard to do so.
“Oh! By the way, here are some questions they might want to ask you and I wrote down the possible answers you have,” he said as he gave me a white little notebook that I guessed where all of it has been written.
“Oh! Thank you so much!” I thanked him, but thanking him is an understatement. He helped me so much and I gave him nothing.
“I’m sorry! I don’t have anything to give you.” I pouted but he just chuckled.
“You gave me something and that’s by being a wonderful friend!”
“Oh! It’s my pleasure!”
“Ah! don’t be like that.”
She will answer him again but the food came in and cut their conversation. My jaw dropped as I saw the food they served to us. This is a whole lot of the next level for me. I saw Tristan smile as he found me being overwhelmed by the food in front of us. Tristan is calm because he has a lot of experience but, I don’t want to talk about it.
We ate in silence until we finished it. It’s an early lunch for me and I am grateful I had experienced this with him. I wished I can come back here but I am the one who is paying the bill. After that, we went out for a walk, until we are across the tower.
I took many pictures of it as I can to send to my relatives and some pictures of it with me and Tristan. It’s such a lovely, and blustery day for me. As I started my journey to Honfleur to Paris, I will enjoy this moment because sooner or later the chance of hanging out with him has a slim chance.
I can’t wait to start a new tomorrow for me under this blue clear sky. I can also wait to find the chance to take my parents and my younger brother alongside my other relative in Caen here in Paris.
