Episode 3: Freedom

“Mom, Dad, wake up” I call as I shake them “Mom, Dad, wake up” I call again “Please” I cry “Wake up, tell them, I did not do it, tell them the truth, please” I beg as I shake them “I cannot take it anymore, please, wake up” I cry.

“THIS IS YOUR FAULT!” Dave shouts “NO! MOM, DAD, WAKE UP! STOP HIM!” I cry as Dave grabs me by the neck.

I abruptly wake up, gasping for air.

“Ah” I complain as every single breath feels like a knife stabbing me in the lungs, he punched, he kicked me until he left me laying on a pool of my own blood, again. An introduction of what is going to be my life like when Michael moves out.

I slowly stand up, another sleepless night.

I sigh as I continue to gather the plates from the table.

I place the trash bag in the bin, I spent all night and morning cleaning, blood isn’t something that cleans off easy **SIGH** I am physically and emotionally tired, I do not think I can keep up with this, which terrifies me, because if he keeps up with this, I am going to snap and kill him, I do not know why delayed this, but I think it is time for me to leave this place as well, because I am safer, anywhere but here.

“Blaze” Mr. Jack calls.

I sigh.

I know he means well, but “I do not have time today, Alpha, I there are lot of things for me to get done” I answer.

“I am not here for our session, Blaze” Mr. Jack says.

I frown as I look at him.

“I am sorry, Blaze, but Dave, he left me no choice” Mr. Jack says as the pack joins us, realization sets in.

“What changed?” I ask.

“Nothing had to change, Blaze, but every single wolf in this tribe heard what he did, and this time I cannot ignore it” Mr. Jack says.

“Do not come to me with those lies, as you and this tribe had no issues ignoring it before, so tell me, what changed?” I ask.

“We have rules, and they are to be followed” Mr. Jack answers.

“LIES!” I snap at him.

“Blaze…” “The rules have never existed for me, if they did, you would have stopped them a long time ago, so do not lie to me, what changed?” I demand.

“Stand down, Blaze, this matter is beyond you” Kyle says, I look at him.

“No” Mr. Jack says as he gets between his son and me.

“Please” Mr. Jack begs.

“Why? Huh” I ask, my sight glued to Kyle.

“Why, Mr. Jack? Why am I always the one that has to comply with everything, with everyone, I am simply asking you why you are intervening now, and you have the audacity to LIE TO ME!” I snap at him as Kyle falls on his needs.

“NO!” Mr. Jack says.

I release a chuckle as I blind the pack.

 “What’s happening? I can’t see” Paul says as he trips and falls.

“Why is it so dark?” John asks as he falls on his knees.

“I’m tired, Mr. Jack, tired of their abuses, of their rejection, I AM TIRED OF EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!” I snap at Mr. Jack. 

“Let’s talk about it” Mr. Jack says. 

“Right, because if I kill them, I not only leave the tribe without a pack, but I also prove to everybody that I am the monster they say I am” I say.

“You are not a monster, Blaze, you are overwhelmed, you need time alone, time to meditate, to heal, do not allow your emotions to blind you” Mr. Jack says.

“Maybe I should let my emotions take control, maybe I should make Dave pass out on a pool of his own blood, I should force Michael to watch his brother in pain and not be able to save him” I say as I can sense Michael and Dave exiting the house.

“GO BACK INTO THE HOUSE!” Mr. Jack orders Michael and Dave. 

“Alpha, what’s happening?” Michael asks.

“DO AS TOLD!” Mr. Jack orders.

“You really believe that they are save inside the house” I say as Michael and Dave fall on their needs.

“AH!” Michael shouts.

“MAKE IT STOP!” Dave shouts as he twists in pain.

“Da...ve” Michael calls.

I release a sigh in relief.

“I failed them, Blaze” Mr. Jack says in tears.

I look at him.

“What happened that day was not your fault and I shouldn’t have allowed the Elite Alpha do what he did, because his actions, his decision showed me that he was not different than them” Mr. Jack says as he cries.

“And if my friends, if my best friend and his wife placed their lives on the line to keep you and your brothers save, I should have been able to face the Elite Alpha, even if it costed me my own life” Mr. Jack says.

“What are you saying?” I ask.

“That I should have asked for this a long time ago, that I shouldn’t have allowed things get this far, neither go down like this, I asked the Elite Alpha for a place for you, alone, where nobody can reach you, neither bother you, where you can be you, because to be honest, Blaze, I am tired of looking away” he answers.

I sigh as I release all of them from my control.

“I will go pack my things” I say as I walk towards the house.

“Kyle, take Michael and Dave under custody and take them to the base, for the moment, what happened here is to be a secret” Mr. Jack orders.

“Dad…” “This is not the moment to ask questions, Kyle, do as ordered, and I am going to take Blaze to her new home” Mr. Jack says.

“Yes, Alpha” Kyle says.

I have always wanted to leave, but for some reason, I never did. I guess that over everything always had the hope that everything would go back to what it was before they died, but as I can see in Mr. Jack’s mind, it is a vague thought, because Mr. Jack is not focusing on it, but the Elite Alpha plays very important part in this whole situation, but I am not going to focus on this.

As for packing, it will not take long, as for I hoped for things to get better, I did plan to leave, especially after Dave would beat me senseless, I grab my bags.

Maybe things cannot go back to what they were, but from this point forward, things are going to change, because I finally have gained my freedom.
